Shop NowWhen Kamala Harris visited the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church everyone was expecting her to burst into flames. She didn’t but her campaign did. It was obviously nothing but a ploy because she’s not typically devout. Perhaps she thought holding a campaign rally in a mega-church would spark the miracle she needs so desperately.
Church visit debacle
Any chance Kamala Harris had to gain votes from family-oriented Christians by attending services at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church ended suddenly and disastrously, with humiliating consequences.
In the battleground state of Georgia, Harris didn’t simply sit quietly in a pew and pray. She took over to deliver a campaign speech sermon. Meanwhile, Tim Walz tried his luck convincing congregants of Victorious Believers Ministries in Saginaw, Michigan.
That gave Donald Trump a chance to drag her over hot coals for “skipping the Al Smith dinner in New York City.” Her absence, Trump noted, was “very disrespectful to our great Catholic community.” The last place Kamala Harris would dare show her face is “a high-profile fundraiser for Catholic charities.”
Knowing she couldn’t snub the Catholic Church completely, she “sent a video.” That way nobody could grill her about her stance favoring the murder of babies. Former Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò called for her and Joe Biden to be ex-communicated for that. The outspoken “guerrilla” cleric got himself ex-communicated instead.
At least Joe Biden made a show of regularly attending church. He’s “a lifelong Catholic who regularly attends services, quotes hymns and figures like St. Augustine, and can be seen on Ash Wednesday with ash on his forehead.”
He also meets with the family mole, “One Eye,” after the services. Former FBI director Louis Freeh coincidentally attends the same parish. That way he can fill the Biden family in on which of their foreign associates are under federal investigation, without signing any visitor logs. Viganò came unglued when Joe declared Easter Sunday Transgender Visibility Day.

Backfired on Obama
Back when ole big ears was running the show, religion was a forbidden subject inside the beltway. Barack Obama recognized the need to keep Christians happy even though he’s personally Muslim.
He leveraged the political power aspects of the church for his own personal gain and it was obvious to everyone. He started out cutting “his teeth in Chicago as a community organizer working for a coalition of Catholic churches.”
Obama’s already running Kamala’s campaign for her. It’s obvious that should she manage to win the election, he’ll be making all the decisions for her. It was probably his idea for her to hit the church circuit.
He had to distance himself from his former pastor, Jeremiah Wright, who had some bizarrely controversial points of view. Voters do take a candidate’s faith into consideration when making up their minds but one visit to to a house of warship three weeks before the election looks worse than not going at all.
Presidential historian Michael Beschloss agrees that “Americans have grown more cynical about their politicians and what their religious affiliation might say about their character.” We don’t expect our politicians to be honest, even though they may be outwardly devout.
“We’ve learned a lot about a lot of politicians who seemed to be very religious but did not necessarily follow the tenets of their faith in one way or another.” Attending church or not isn’t necessarily a deal breaker but one thing is certain, the Guerrilla Archbishop has been backing Trump since the very beginning in 2015. That’s one of the things he got in trouble with the Vatican over.
