Rachel Maddow, host of a nightly show on left-wing outlet MSNBC, has admitted what conservatives have been saying since the election results started coming in: there was no “blue wave.”
Rachel Maddow noted on her show, that the 2020 election results didn’t show the resounding victory for Democrats that strategists, pollsters, and left-wing media have been anticipating.
“It’s been remarkable to see the stability not only between the 2016 and 2020 presidential map, but also in congressional races and Senate races up and down. On either side, you’re not seeing — not only no wave, it’s like a pond where you drop in a rock and there’s no ripples,” Maddow said.
Rachel Maddow’s comments come as President Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden are fighting in multiple close races in key battleground states, and both sides are contemplating legal battles in states like Pennsylvania.
It is looking increasingly likely that Republicans will maintain their majority in the Senate, and that they have already gained a few seats in the House, though Democrats have maintained their control of the lower chamber.
The final results of the presidential election are not likely to be known Wednesday morning, as election officials are still counting votes in the key battleground states that will decide the election: Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
