The mainstream media (MSM) have begun to turn on Joe Biden, which is something that no one expected would happen. The media went from nauseating articles about Biden beating his grandchildren at Mario Kart to actually calling out his actions — or lack thereof — relating to the border crisis and the COVID vaccine.
The mainstream media was known for their non-stop criticism of President Trump during the last four years, using any means necessary to make the president look bad. As soon as Joe Biden came into office, the criticism of the occupant of the White House almost completely disappeared, until now.
Actual Reporting — Calling Biden Out
Deviating from the media’s default of not criticizing left-wing administrations, ABC News and a few other outlets have been forced to call Biden out for issues that have become impossible to sweep under the rug.
In a surprising turn of events, ABC News reported:
“Despite calls for national unity and bipartisanship, President Joe Biden and his top aides have declined to give the Trump administration credit on the nation’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout while relying heavily on a system established by their predecessors.
The public slight appears to have irked the former president, along with his retired aides who told ABC News they are baffled at the political jabs in what was supposed to be a nonpartisan effort to vaccinate America.
In a statement released Wednesday, former President Donald Trump declared that if he hadn’t been president ‘you wouldn’t be getting that beautiful ‘shot’ for 5 years at best, and probably wouldn’t be getting it at all. I hope everyone remembers!’
While Trump’s statement is an exaggeration — development of the vaccine itself was largely a feat of private industry — it’s true that many of Biden’s public “wins” on the vaccine, including expanding supply and distributing doses to local pharmacies, are tied directly to efforts initiated by policy aides working under Trump before he left office. The new administration though has accelerated the rollout with an eye on inequities in the nation’s health care system.

Also, Biden’s playbook for vaccine distribution has relied heavily on a system created by the Trump administration, including federal partnerships with state officials and agreements with local pharmacies. In fact, the federal pharmacy program created by Trump aides is what Biden relied on last week to expand eligibility to teachers.
And when Biden called for ‘100 million shots in 100 days’ — a pace of about 1 million shots per day — former health officials noted that the U.S. had already hit that pace the week of Biden’s inauguration in mid January.“
Amazingly, it seems that left-wing ABC News is attempting to report the truth. Despite what Joe Biden and other Democrats say, a lot of the Biden administration’s COVID policies are based on Trump’s policies. They have tried to rebrand them as their own, but the similarities are too obvious to ignore.
Border Crisis
Along with the refusal to acknowledge the Trump administration’s efforts surrounding COVID, the media has also been reporting on the crisis at the southern border.
Several mainstream media outlets have been critical of the Biden administration’s handling of the border crisis. NBC News reports that there was more transparency under the Trump administration than under Biden:
“Multiple news organizations, including NBC News, have requested access to or photos from inside overcrowded border processing facilities holding unaccompanied migrant children; they have been denied. The DHS press office released one photo late Tuesday of a mother and child undergoing a health screening inside a border facility, but no wider shots to show conditions or sleeping arrangements.
At the height of the Trump administration’s child separation policy in June 2018, it allowed media to tour facilities where separated children were held.”
The Bottom Line
The mainstream media treats Democrats with kid gloves in almost every instance. The problems have to get really bad before they will actually publish a negative story about a Democrat. One major example is New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who is directly responsible for thousands of COVID deaths in nursing homes because of his bad policies. The media virtually ignored the story until Cuomo was accused by several women of sexual misconduct or harassment. After those accusations came out, the media turned on Cuomo. Now, they’re doing the same thing with Joe Biden. The lies about the Trump administration’s COVID policies were so outrageous that the media had no choice but to report on them, and the situation at the border has become so dire that the media had to ask about it. If they hadn’t reported on these issues, even their left-wing audience would have had to call them out.
