The unusual call came in to cops Wednesday morning. By the time the SWAT standoff was over and they forced their way into the home, they realized they were in for “a long night.” As soon as they arrived on scene, officers couldn’t miss the dismembered body and trail of blood. They weren’t expecting to find the rest of the deceased “cooking inside her oven.” That’s rural Kentucky life in today’s age of heavily contaminated street drugs and non-existent mental health options.
Cops make gruesome discovery
Cops responsible for maintaining some semblance of law and order for residents of Mount Olivet, Kentucky, got a call Wednesday morning, October 9. It seems that Halloween came early this year because the tip led to a lot of spookiness and evil.
A local resident described only as a “contractor” apparently had some sort of pre-existing relationship with the Fields family, Trudy and her 32-year-old daughter, Torilena May. Both of them were alive and well when he last saw them, the evening before. Torilena May was acting more than a little strange, though.
The worker informed police there was nobody present but him and the two women and shortly before he left, Torilena Fields had become “confrontational” and was “casting spells on them.” He figured that would be a good time to call it a day and let whatever the girl was on wear off.
He indicated to the cops “she may have been under the influence of drugs.” He wasn’t expecting to find what he did when he returned in the morning.
He had a pretty good idea the body belonged to Trudy because he found a “pile of her hair.” That’s when he hightailed out of there and called the cops. Police thanked him for alerting them and took charge from there. Or tried to.
“Officers arriving at the scene found the dismembered remains in the grass, alongside a bloody mattress and blood stains on the back porch and the threshold of the back door.”

SWAT standoff
From what they had already, getting a search warrant wasn’t difficult. The cops brought in “a special response team” after Torilena Fields, “who was inside the house, refused to come out,” State Police confirm. With one murder already to her credit, they weren’t taking any chances so “used gas and communicated with Fields via a robot.”
She laughed at the gas and chatted with the robot all day but wouldn’t budge. They eventually talked her into “surrender later that night without further incident.”
As they got her out of the house, “Fields had blood on her face, hands and clothing.” Cops followed the trail of blood into the kitchen and the smell of roast pork was a major clue to their next discovery.
“During their search of the home, officers discovered a steel pot in the oven containing human remains.” According to the arrest report, the pot “was still warm to the touch.” Kentucky State Police Trooper David Jones told reporters, “this is going to be a long night for our guys.”
The remains were quickly confirmed to be those of Trudy Fields. Prosecutors charged Torilena with “abusing a corpse, tampering with evidence, and obstructing government operations.”
The cops note that additional charges are still possible. It’s not clear if Ms. Fields has retained counsel but she’s being held for arraignment next week.
