It’s finally happening, Congresswoman Liz Cheney’s (R-WY) constant, contemptable betrayal of the Republican party is about to bite her in the…. career. House Minority Whip Congressman Steve Scalise (R-LA) has announced he will no longer support Cheney in her role of GOP Conference Chair.
Scalise and Trump Endorse Elise Stefanik
Instead, Scalise will throw his support behind Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY). Scalise has put up with a lot in his position as Whip, up to and including being shot just for being Republican. So where others opinions may have a little sway, Scalise’s carries some serious weight, and not merely that lent by virtue of his position.
According to The New York Post, Scalise’s “spokeswoman Lauren Fine explained the decision as one about keeping Republicans’ priorities in check.
“House Republicans need to be solely focused on taking back the House in 2022 and fighting against Speaker Pelosi and President Biden’s radical socialist agenda, and Elise Stefanik is strongly committed to doing that, which is why Whip Scalise has pledged to support her for Conference Chair,”
The main divide separating Cheney from the rest of the GOP is Cheney’s steadfast insistence that any suggestion that there were irregularities or electoral fraud in the 2020 election constitutes “spreading THE BIG LIE” and is “poisoning our democratic system”. In her endless quest to purge President Trump from the GOP the Congresswoman has found herself on the wrong side of the fight.
History is watching us. We must decide whether we are going to choose truth and fidelity to the Constitution or join Trump's crusade to delegitimize and undo the legal outcome of the 2020 election, with all the consequences that might have. https://t.co/K8IAaZyawu

Who Is Rep. Elise Stefanik?
Rep. Stefanik at the time of her election in 2014 was the youngest woman ever elected to Congress at age 30. In 2016 she supported President Donald Trump’s candidacy and has since proven a stalwart America First Republican, moving on to co0chair the Tuesday group a caucus of “moderate” House Republicans and sits on the House Armed Services Committee and led recruitment efforts for the National Replublican Congressional Committee.
Congresswoman Stefanik voted in defense of President Trump in both impeachment attempts and recieved his endorsment in the next vote for GOP Conference Chair.
President Trump wrote,
“Liz Cheney is a warmongering fool who has no business in Republican Party Leadership. We want leaders who believe in the Make America Great Again movement, and prioritize the values of America First. Elise Stefanik is a far superior choice, and she has my COMPLETE and TOTAL Endorsement for GOP Conference Chair. Elise is a tough and smart communicator! “
In a hot mic incident on Tuesday, Axios reported that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy told a Fox News host off-camera “I’ve had it with her. You know, I’ve lost confidence,” “Well, someone just has to bring a motion” to oust her, he continued, “but I assume that will probably take place.”
Support for Stefanik is growing with Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-IN) announcing her support and according to The Hill “Stefanik, who has offered vigorous support for Trump and defended the president during his first impeachment trial, has emerged as the most likely to succeed Cheney. Other rivals are dropping out of the race in recognition of that fact. ”
