Plumber Calls Police After Making a Gruesome Discovery in a Pipe

After a tenant of an apartment building complained of clogged drains, two plumbers were called to work away at the pipes.

Unfortunately, however, they came across a gruesome discovery of what looked to be a flesh-like substance.

“The plumbers pulled out what appeared to be a flesh-like substance,” prosecutor Bryan Guertin said in his opening statement. “The plumbers, unsure of what they found, called police.”

Police Constable Kevin Park responded to the call and met with the two plumbers.

They showed him a shopping bag filled with remains that were collected from the pipes.

“I’d never seen anything like this before so I wasn’t sure,” the Durham Regional Police officer testified in court, as reported by CTV.

In response, the officers knocked on the door of the basement apartment where a man answered.

When asked what the man had flushed down the toilet, his response was chilling.

“OK, you got me, the gig’s up, it’s a body,” the man, identified as Strong, allegedly replied. “If you want to recover the rest of her, it’s in my freezer.”

The man, 47-year-old Adam Strong was arrested by police and charged with first-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Rori Hache.

Hache had vanished just a few months before the plumbers came across their shocking discovery in Oshawa, Ontario on December 29, 2017.

Strong is also being accused of murdering 19-year-old Kandis Fitzpatrick, who disappeared back in 2008.

Strong has pled not guilt to both murder charges.

The remainder of Hache’s body was discovered both in Oshawa Harbour by fishermen and a freezer in Strong’s bedroom.

Investigators found her blood on the walls and ceiling of the bedroom and stumbled upon evidence Strong has sexually assaulted Hache.

According to the prosecutor, a medical examiner found multiple injuries, including two skull fractures.

Fitzpatrick’s blood was also discovered in Strong’s freezer, bedroom, and on a large hunting knife.

Strong targeted both women because they “were vulnerable, were essentially homeless,” Guertin said.

William Fitzpatrick, Kandis’s father, told the court that he last saw his daughter in the spring of 2008. She also struggled with drugs, and would leave home for weeks at a time without notice.

Testimony from Strong’s five other alleged victims of sexual violence and digital evidence from his phone will be presented in the ongoing trial.
