If you’ve been following the case of perverted CNN producer John Griffin, he’s been sentenced to almost 20 years in prison. That’s what happens when you get caught luring a 9-year-old girl into illegal sexual acts. His crimes were horrid but CNN’s relieved to have their former employee taking some attention away from Joe Biden’s debate performance.
Sentenced to federal prison
Pleading guilty didn’t get John Griffin much slack in his prison sentence. he was accused of “bragging in online chats about luring ‘girls as young as 7‘ to his home.” He didn’t just molest the children, he “provided private tutoring in ‘sexual subservience.‘”
That’s why he “preferred to work with mothers and daughters at the same time.” He’s going to be real popular behind bars. Especially, in the shower.
The federal judge sentenced Griffin on Tuesday, June 25, to “more than 19 years in prison and an additional 15 years of supervised release.” the hearing was held in Vermont, where the abuse took place even though Griffin’s main residence is in Stamford, Connecticut.

In December, he accepted a guilty plea to a charge of “using interstate commerce to entice and coerce the girl to engage in sexual activity at his Vermont ski house.”
For admitting that one, “the government dropped two remaining counts of enticement of a minor.” He’s also been “ordered to pay restitution to the victims.”
The paperwork describes how Griffin “met a woman on a website during the summer of 2020 and persuaded the woman to bring her daughter to his Ludlow, Vermont, ski home for sexual activity.” He could have received another 20 years in prison by not taking the deal.
No contact with minors
In this particular incident, Griffin “paid the woman and girl to fly from Nevada to Boston, picked them up and drove them to his Vermont home where the girl said Griffin sexually assaulted her.” His eight-year career at CNN ended with his arrest on December 10, 2021.
As part of the deal, Griffin “cannot have contact with people under the age of 18.” That’s assuming he lives through the next 19 years and is released from prison. He’s not going to be meeting any kids where he’s going.
CNN isn’t real happy with the way he spent his salary. He “offered a woman $30,000 in January 2020 for a mother-and-daughter getaway. In March 2020, he offered another woman $1,200 for sex, saying he would up the payment to $5,000 ‘if the kids are in the room.‘”

The FBI watched him for a full 18 months, “even though they had all the evidence they needed.” They had records that show while “chatting with someone online who admitted to sexually assaulting a baby, Griffin reassured the assailant.” Oh, it’s okay. Everybody does that. Not everybody, only perverts. All of his money isn’t going to do much good in prison.
The inmates tend to pay special attention to child molesters. Even if he spends the next 20 years in solitary, he’s always going to be expecting the unexpected.
“You need to promise me that you will always understand what you’re doing is right, OK?” Another “$4,000 via Venmo” went to “a family member of the 9-year-old he is accused of assaulting as part of an ‘apparent pay-off.‘” it didn’t work and he’s now off to prison.
