Republican Representative Jim Jordan made an explosive announcement on May 5 during an appearance on Fox News. According to Jordan, GOP lawmakers have enough votes to remove RINO Representative Liz Cheney from House leadership.
The RINO representative, who is currently the House Republican Conference chairwoman, has been consistently siding with the Democrats against the will of Republican voters, with many accusing her of abandoning conservatism.
Jim Jordan, citing Cheney’s attacks on former President Donald Trump, says that Liz Cheney “definitely needs to go.”
“You can’t have a Republican conference chair reciting Democrat talking points,” Jordan said during his appearance on Fox News. “You can’t have a Republican conference chair taking a position that 90 percent of the party disagrees with, and you can’t have a Republican Party chair consistently speaking out against the individual who 74 million Americans voted for.”
According to Jordan, he was ready to remove Cheney from her position “three months ago,” noting that “you can’t be the conference chair when you consistently speak out against the leader of our party and you consistently speak out against the positions that the vast, vast, vast majority of our party and our country, I think, holds.”
The move to oust Cheney has been endorsed by several top Republicans, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Minority Whip Steve Scalise. Jordan has predicted that the move will take place next week.
Cheney has already been censured in her home state of Wyoming for voting to impeach former President Trump after the incident at the U.S. Capitol building on January 6. “The oath that I took to the Constitution compelled me to vote for impeachment,” she said at the time.
According to a copy of the censure published by Forbes, the Wyoming committee also called for Cheney to “immediately resign” from office.
