‘Republican in name only’ Liz Cheney recently appeared on CBS and refused to mention the unethical tactics that the news outlet is using against a member of her own party.
Cheney, a Wyoming congresswoman who has lost a significant amount of support during the last year over her constant support for the left, once again betrayed her conservative base by appearing on a left-wing news outlet and refusing to call them out for their lies.
Recently, CBS attempted to smear Florida Governor Ron DeSantis by publishing outright lies about a so-called “pay-to-play” vaccine scheme.
As The GOP Times previously reported:
CBS 60 Minutes recently released a fake story about a “pay-to-play” vaccine scheme between Florida’s governor and the Publix supermarket chain. The left-wing “news” show tried to claim that Publix donated to DeSantis’ campaign as part of a secret deal to obtain the vaccine for their pharmacies.
Even some Democrats, including Jared Moskowitz, who runs Florida’s emergency management agency, had to call the network out for its lies. In a tweet, Moskowitz referred to the story as “bullshit,” and in a later comment he added that it was “absolute malarkey.”
Governor DeSantis also called CBS out in a press conference.
If even Democrats are able to call CBS out, the fact that Cheney refused to is even more concerning. Instead, Cheney used the time to attack her own party.
The RINO spoke at length about the so-called “insurrection,” and agreed with CBS host Margaret Brennan that former President Donald Trump was “at war with the Constitution.”
Cheney also continued to push lies about Trump that have already gotten her unanimously censured by the Wyoming GOP.
“You know, the former president is using the same language that he knows provoked violence on January 6th. You know, as a party, we need to be focused on the future,” she claimed. “We need to be focused on embracing the Constitution, not embracing insurrection …If you attack the judicial process and you attack the rule of law, you aren’t defending the Constitution. You’re at war with the Constitution.”
The Bottom Line
Liz Cheney’s entire appearance on CBS seemed like a calculated move to attack the Republican Party, at a time when she should be promoting conservative values. As her chances at getting reelected continue to decrease, it appears that she may be looking for a position within the left-wing media to soften the blow of rejection from her own party.
