Breaking News: Trump Makes A Massive POWER Play

The Wisconsin Elections Commission has received a partial recount petition and $3 million wire transfer from the Trump campaign.

“The request is for all of Milwaukee and Dane Counties. No other counties or jurisdictions were requested. It was filed in-person in our office today at 10:58 a.m. and appears, upon facial review, to meet all of the requirements in pairing with the payment that was received late yesterday.

We understand the eyes of the world will be on these Wisconsin counties over the next few weeks.  We remain committed to providing information about the process and assisting our county clerks by providing facts on the mechanics of a recount and status updates,” said Meagan Wolfe, Wisconsin’s chief election official.

The Wisconsin Elections official Twitter account confirmed this information this afternoon, writing: “The Wisconsin Elections Commission has received a partial recount petition and a wire transfer from the Trump campaign for $3 million.”

Dean Knudson, the State Elections Commissioner, also posted on Twitter on Wednesday morning about the campaign’s payment: “Wisconsin law allows candidate behind under 1% to request recount, either full statewide or selected wards, with payment of estimated costs upfront. Formal petition&paymt due 5pm today. Est full cost $8M. Trump paid $3M overnight.”

“When the candidate behind pays for a partial recount, the leading candidate can request and pay for the remaining wards to be recounted. May request any time up to 5pm 2 days after completion of the partial,” Knudson added.

If President Trump wants a statewide recount, his campaign would have to pay $7.9 million up-front. He is also able to request recounts only in certain counties, which would reduce the cost.

If a recount is approved by the state, it must be done within 13 days.

According to local news outlet WAOW, “On Tuesday, canvassed vote results were submitted from all 72 counties in Wisconsin. They show that President-elect Joe Biden beat President Trump by 20,608 votes.”
