Joe Biden has been deemed the ‘Holiday Assassin,’ as his disastrous policies since taking office have led to concerns that Christmas and Thanksgiving will be cancelled.
The Western Journal reports: “This year, Christmas is close to being canceled, Thanksgiving dinner will cost you the arm and leg you haven’t already spent on gas, and even Black Friday is hanging on by a thread. Welcome to Biden’s America.”
The Black Friday retail holiday that everyone looks forward to every year is unlikely to be eventful. Many Americans rely on the holiday discounts to purchase Christmas presents, but it looks like the sales are going to be few and far between this year. Adobe, a service that tracks retail website traffic, has announced that it anticipates holiday discounts between 5 and 25 percent this year, less than the usual seasonal discounts of 10 to 30 percent.
“Promotions will likely be strategically placed on goods that retailers have in excess stock,” Casey Runyan, managing editor of the retail discount website Brad’s Deals, said. “Those items might not be on top of shoppers’ holiday wish lists.”
Simeon Siegel, a BMO analyst, agrees with Runyan, pointing out that holiday deals are likely to be dictated by supply chain disruptions rather than an item’s popularity.
“Shoppers will have to spend up for the hot items, but will find deals on items that get left behind,” Siegel said.
The Wall Street Journal also reported that Siegel “expects discounts to be most prevalent on seasonal items that are late arriving in stores or warehouses due to the backlog at the ports.”
There is a significant problem with items being out of stock in stores throughout the country, as the number of online out-of-stock messages has risen by 172 percent since January of 2020. The items that are the hardest hit by these out-of-stock issues include apparel, sporting goods, electronics, and baby products.
The Biden administration has vowed to fix supply chain issues, but things just keep getting worse. Container ships are still waiting for several days off of the coast of California to unload their goods. There is a trucker shortage that is preventing goods from being delivered from ports to stores and warehouses across the country. And there is a worker shortage that is preventing goods from being processed and stocked on shelves in stores.
Of course, Joe Biden has a solution for this: truckers need to drive at night!
The Western Journal reports:
“The best President Joe Biden has come up with is the brilliant suggestion that truckers drive at night. Of course, truckers already drive at night — although I doubt I have to tell that to anyone other than Joe Biden. This was yet another cringe-worthy indication that career politician Biden is remarkably out of touch with working-class Americans, despite all his promises to improve their lot.
After vowing to make the wealthy pay their fair share, his handling of the economy is leaving shelves empty, pocketbooks strained and Christmas hopes trampled, all while massive corporations get away with slashing discounts.
Biden’s promises to ‘build back better’ are getting hollower by the day.”
