Far-left Democratic Rep. and self-proclaimed socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) has now complained that her salary of $174,000 is far too small for an “ordinary person” from a working-class background to make as a member of Congress.
The comments come from an Instagram story posted by former Washington Examiner reporter John Gage.

According to The Citizen Free Press, AOC has aired a long list of grievances against Congress, complaining that the government sector is not paid enough. For those like her who consider themselves to be working-class Americans, the Rep. asserts that the money is not sufficient enough.

Additionally, AOC mentioned that only 10 women have given birth while serving as a member of Congress, making it “a very hostile place to have a baby.”
Ocasio-Cortez asserts that lawmakers are forced to pay $25,000 in labor costs alone and there are no provisions available for housing or student loan relief.
According to the Social Security Administration, the average annual pay in the U.S. was $53,383 while the median annual salary was $34,612.
Considering the $25,000 disbursement, AOC and other “working and middle class” members are still earning more than three times the amount of an average American salary.
Not to mention the fact that she is engaged to a web developer, Riley Roberts, who some sites claim has a pretty high net worth.
Shockingly enough, this isn’t the first time AOC has complained about not getting a raise. In fact, House Democrats in 2019 rejected a proposed salary increase for congressmen over optics, as she complained the amount wasn’t really that high.
“It’s not even like a raise,” the New York socialite said of the proposed $4,500 raise at the time.
It’s highly unlikely that Americans who are currently struggling financially to make ends meet will sympathize.
AOC frequently believes that no matter how much something costs, it will never be enough, so it comes as no surprise that she is upset about her pay.
