Warning: Major Recall Issued, ALL Parents Be Aware

Before you go out to purchase candy for the holiday, make sure you’re mindful of this recent recall. And this news comes just weeks before Halloween. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) revealed that a 7-year-old girl died from a candy with a rolling ball attached to a holder.

Cocco Candy from Turkey and KGR Distribution based in New Jersey have withdrawn nearly 146,000 units of the product due to its potential for causing choking.

The CPSC has reported one instance where a child choked to death after consuming the candy in New York last April. The agency advised parents to take away the rolling candy immediately and contact KGR Corporation for a refund.

It also noted that flavors such as Sour Cola, Sour Strawberry, and Sour Tutti Frutti are some of those affected by this recall. The candies were sold between May 2022 and March 2023 both in stores and online through kgrcandies.com.

On Thursday, another recall was issued involving Slime Licker Sour Rolling Liquid Candy which can cause choking due to its rolling ball detaching from it easily. Candy Dynamics’ recalled around 70 million units of this product after receiving two reports of balls becoming detached while consumed by people with no injuries reported so far.

This product had been available since June 2015 until July 2023 with “TOXIC WASTE” or “MEGA TOXIC WASTE” brand labels on Blue Razz (blue), Strawberry (red), Sour Apple (green) and Black Cherry (pink) packages manufactured in Spain or Colombia respectively.

It is important for parents or guardians to be aware of any potential issues related to treats they give their children during holidays such as Halloween which is coming up soon.

Make sure you double check all your sweet purchases before allowing kids access as some products may not be safe for consumption despite being marketed directly towards them.
