It’s clear to everyone, especially Donald Trump, that God is on his side. The once and future president survived an assassination attempt by what can only be described as a “miracle.” The odds against his survival were almost as high as the odds against an amateur shooter gaining a perfect sniper position and squeezing off six rounds. He did it while being watched closely by the Secret Service for an hour. Thomas Matthew Crooks didn’t catch a miracle. Instead, he apparently had guardian angels clearing the way for him.
A spirited Trump
When Donald Trump appeared on stage at the Republican National Convention, to accept the presidential nomination, the first thing he did was thank God for being there.
Sporting a fashionable ear bandage, the once and future president told cheering supporters that he was “not supposed to be here.” He only took the stage on Thursday, July 18, from “the grace of almighty God.”
Turning his head upward and at the absolute perfect angle, at the exact split second the bullet was whizzing past, saved his life and campaign at the same time.
Doctors inform that if he had been angled a single degree to the right or left, the bullet would have been fatal. Trump says that certainly got his attention. At first, “rallygoers had believed him dead.”
As soon as Trump regained his feet, with blood pouring from the hole in his upper ear, he raised his fist to “fight” as a way of reassuring the crowd “that he was still alive.” For the rest of his life, he told the crowd in Milwaukee, he’ll be “grateful” for “the love shown by that giant audience of patriots” in Butler, Pennsylvania.
He also says he’ll always remember the two patriotic supporters who were injured and a third killed. Buffalo Township fire chief Corey Comperatore was struck in the head by a stray bullet. David Dutch and James Copenhaver were injured. Both “critically.”

Joined by Melania
Practically the entire Trump family joined the Republican nominee on stage. Everyone was especially happy to see Melania, who’s been sitting out most of the campaign events. She’s fully behind her husband, just not a big fan of politics. She’d much rather be shopping.
The Donald knows exactly how important she is to him, campaign or no campaign. “On this journey, I’m deeply honored to be joined by my amazing wife Melania.” He had nothing but praise for a letter she recently sent out “calling for national unity.”
Trump asked the crowd for a moment of silence before announcing that his “resolve” was “unbroken” towards his goal of delivering “a government that serves the American people better than ever before.”
Nothing, he declared, “will stop me in this mission, because our vision is righteous and our cause is pure.” It’s time to Make America Great Again.
Another key point of his acceptance speech was when he pointed an accusing finger at Democrats for “weaponizing the justice system” against him. They called his previous efforts to drain the swamp and stamp out corruption “a threat to democracy.”
That’s not true, Trump insists. He’s the one “who is saving democracy for the people of our country.” More importantly, he’s restoring the Republic.
