Disturbing Details Emerge on Trump Assassination Attempt

The feds briefed a group of Senators on Wednesday, about Saturday’s attempted murder of Donald Trump. That’s when the public learned things were even more disturbing than we thought. Thomas Matthew Crooks was “reported as a suspicious person” a full hour before he pulled the trigger. The Secret Service watched him closely, right up until they killed him. That didn’t happen until after he had a fair chance to get his job done. The Secret Service carefully failed to mention any potential threat to the intended victim. Instead, they made sure he was standing right on target. The more we learn about the chain of one total security failure after another, the more it looks like it was intentional.

Feds under investigation

There’s as much need to investigate the feds, for active participation in an assassination attempt, as there is to investigate the assassin. This incident was so totally preventable that the only thing which makes sense is that T.M. Crooks was expected. The federal complicity is glaring.

The House Oversight Committee wants to interview Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, calling the debacle “a total failure of the agency’s core mission.” Alejandro Mayorkas is already squawking and telling her not to cooperate. That makes everyone wonder how much they’re covering up.

Authorities noticed Crooks and took his photo “one hour before he began shooting, according to two sources familiar with a briefing for senators Wednesday.” The feds shared a new timeline. What Secret Service and FBI officials admitted to the senators “raised questions about why Secret Service officials allowed Trump to take the stage.

After the briefing, Wyoming Senator John Barrasso told the press that Crooks “had a range finder and a backpack with him.” The feds knew that. They also lost him in the crowd for a while. “This was a 100% cover-your-ass briefing.

Half an hour after Crooks had first been tagged, “Pennsylvania State Police notified the Secret Service of a suspicious person at 5:51 p.m. The Secret Service notified its snipers at 5:53 p.m., the sources said.” A full ten minutes before Trump took the stage.

They trotted him out right on schedule at 6:02. About then, members of the crowd spotted the gunman, climbing to the rooftop with a rifle. Apparently, he was totally invisible to the feds.

The feds who shot Crooks were positioned on a similarly sloped roof.

Two minute warning

Two minutes is a lot longer than people generally imagine. It’s a heartbeat when you’re in traffic but a lifetime when you’re waiting for your fast food order.

At 6:09, members of the crowd pointed out Crooks on the rooftop and police broadcast an alert to the feds over their radio. The Secret Service didn’t use that two minutes to shield President Trump. Crooks started shooting at 6:11 and after he squeezed off around 6 rounds, then the snipers took the 20-year-old out. That way, nobody can interrogate him.

The senators were also informed that “Crooks visited the site of the assassination attempt last week.” Senator Barrasso wants heads to roll. Starting with Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle. “No one has taken responsibility.” Trump was almost killed. “The head of the Secret Service needs to go.

She went on network TV to whine “that she did not yet have all the details about the incident.” You may think two minutes is long but Ms. Cheatle calls an hour, between feds identifying him as suspicious and when he proved it by opening fire, a “very short” period of time.

Cheatle sheepishly admitted the building used by the assassin was occupied by a local police sniper team. They weren’t expecting anyone to be on the roof. They themselves considered that too dangerous.

That building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point,” Cheatle said Tuesday. “And so, you know, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we would want to put somebody up on a sloped roof.” The feds who shot Crooks were positioned on a similarly sloped roof. If that’s the best she can come up with, it’s no wonder Mayorkas doesn’t want her testifying.
