Thousands of Homes Were Destroyed By Fires, Then Joe Biden’s Response BREAKS THE INTERNET

There are gaffes and then there are GAFFES, and Joe Biden just set a new standard for simultaneously failing to read the room and coldly attempting to use the tragedy of Colorado residents stricken by recent fires to sell his doomed, radical policies while they struggle to grapple with destroyed lives, homes and memories lost. Unlike what many skilled and crafty politicians have done for centuries, Biden attempted this so clumsily and guilelessly that he instead disgusted millions of Americans, aghast at his obvious attempt to gain political capital from the pain of others.

The wildfire damage in Colorado was extensive with, 1,100 homes destroyed, families stripped of all of their worldly possessions short of what they could hurriedly pack, and most tragically two people missing and possibly dead. It was under these circumstances that Mr. and Mrs. Biden met with three families who had been stricken by the massive blaze. Joe Biden then delivered sickening remarks that nakedly attempted to manipulate the moment to his political advantage.

Initially speaking with one couple, with one of them apologizing for informally wearing shorts because all of his clothes were burned, Biden said, “The whole nation is thinking about you,” Biden said. “You have no idea how many people’s prayers you’re in, when I went to Mass, how many people were praying for you.” Had he stayed on this track, even the most ardent Republican, while rejecting all of his policies could nod at the appropriateness of the remark and point to the moment as a rare positive moment in the Biden-Harris regime. But of course, no crisis can go to waste.

Biden: Fires “Supercharged” By ‘Climate Change’ – His Solution: Windmills

After regaling everyone present about being raised on Scranton and Delaware, Biden in his remarks began by citing the terror of a forest fire. “There’s nothing so frightening, in my view, as a fire.” He insisted, “We’re here with you. We’re not going to go away. We’re not — the federal government is not going to go away.” But rather than focusing on solutions that could actually help mitigate wildfires in the future like, allowing controlled burns to reduce fuel on the forest floor, relaxation of EPA regulations on ranchers and farmers allowing them to clear dead brush or other logical rational ideas, or even discussing the more immediate support for the victims of the fires, he pivoted to Climate Change, Windmills and his “Build Back Better Agenda”, very, very jarringly.

Biden said,

“Not very far from here, I was — as I was riding out with the governor, I was saying, “Gov, this all looks familiar.  I’ve passed over that cemetery.  I’ve passed over that area before.”  It was on my way up to the facility that is one of the most advanced facility that is one of the most advanced facilities in the country — in not the country, maybe in the world — to find alternatives to fossil fuels. You’ve got — by the way, if you’re ever able to see it, we’re going to have windmills, you can — that you’re going to see that have 100-yard wingspans each — each propeller on that — on that windmill, 100 yards long.  So, there’s so much that is going to be able to be done.”

Perhaps getting a read of the bewildered expressions around the room, (hard to read as they are behind masks), he attempted to explain this brutally obvious appropriation of a disaster to plug his policy.

“The reason I’m telling you this is that’s no solace that you lost your home now, but it’s that we’re going to be able to do a lot of renewable things that allow you to not only rebuild, but afford to rebuild and rebuild better — to build back better than it was before.  And it includes billions of dollars for wildfire preparedness, resilience, and response to protect homes and public resources.”

But the damage was already done, and the horror palpable, that a consummate lifelong politician was making political hay out of the pain and suffering of the American people. This is what American politics has become, and we are right to be disgusted by it.
