The Supreme Court ruled against a new EPA rule that defined waterways.
Even though the ruling was 9-0, Schumer went off, calling the court a MAGA court.

Justice Alito penned the ruling, stating, “The EPA ordered the Sacketts to restore the site, threatening penalties of over $40,000 per day.
“The EPA classified the wetlands on the Sacketts’ lot as ‘waters of the United States’ because they were near a ditch that fed into a creek, which fed into Priest Lake, a navigable, intrastate lake.
“The Sacketts sued, alleging that their property was not ‘waters of the United States.’
“Understanding the CWA to apply to wetlands that are distinguishable from otherwise covered ‘waters of the United States’ would substantially broaden [existing statute] to define ‘navigable waters’ as ‘waters of the United States and adjacent wetlands.'”
This was a big issue for farmers due to the standing water on their lands they use to feed animals.
In essence, the new rule would have allowed the EPA to have standing over small ponds and lakes on private lands.
The court has redefined waterways of which the EPA can use as bodies of water that have a continuous connection to larger waterways.
Schumer went off, stating, “This MAGA Supreme Court is continuing to erode our country’s environmental laws. Make no mistake – this ruling will mean more polluted water, and more destruction of wetlands.”
What he wants is for people to protest against our conservative justices again, but a 9-0 ruling clearly means the EPA has done some serious overreach.
