A new poll reveals that the Democrats‘ efforts to hurt Donald Trump’s popularity may be having the opposite effect, and the left is in panic mode. Despite the fact that he is no longer in office, the left still views Trump as a threat to their power and their plans to transform America into a leftist hell-hole.
Rising Polls
The left and the GOP establishment want Trump gone. They have been trying to turn conservative voters against him, with their most recent attempt involving a second impeachment and claims that he incited an insurrection. Unfortunately for them, a recently released Politico/Morning Consult Poll shows a double digit increase in the percentage of Republicans who wish to see the former president play a role in the future of their party.
The poll shows that 59 percent of GOP voters want to see Trump play a major role in the Republican Party moving forward. This is an 18 percent increase from the previous poll on January 7.
In the previous survey, only 77 percent of Republicans had a positive view of Trump. The new poll has that number at 81 percent.
The most important question in the poll asked respondents who they would vote for if the 2024 Republican presidential primary were held today. Trump took the lead at 53 percent, with Mike Pence holding second place with only 12 percent. Donald Trump Jr. and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley tied for third place at 6 percent each.
It is likely that the poll numbers have shifted since this poll was taken, as a recent surge in popularity for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis may have pushed him above Mike Pence for second place, but it is unlikely that DeSantis will overtake Trump.
Despite the best efforts of the left, the GOP establishment, and the mainstream media, Trump isn’t going to leave the political arena.
“In the months ahead, I have much to share with you, and I look forward to continuing our incredible journey together to achieve American greatness for all of our people,” Trump said.
The recent attempt to impeach Trump, when he wasn’t even in office, makes one thing clear: the left fears him. The impeachment was an attempt to prevent him from running for office again, and it failed miserably. They are afraid of what could happen in the 2024 election, which is why they are trying to hard to make their unconstitutional changes to election law permanent. If they succeed, a Republican may never hold political office again. If they fail, Donald Trump may get a second term. That’s why the left seems to be in a constant state of panic. They are trying to do everything in their power to prevent him from returning in the White House. If the GOP were smart, they would be doing everything in their power to ensure Trump’s 2024 victory.
