A popular Maryland restaurant manager and mom of three has died after being shot in the head by robbers when her car broke down in Northeast Baltimore.
Cheryl McCormack was out making food deliveries when her car broke down in the area of White Avenue in Northeast Baltimore at approximately 2:18 a.m.
The 51 year old mom of three was then approached by two men, who shot her after attempting to rob her, according to Baltimore police.
McCormack’s husband believes that his wife likely refused to obey the robbers’ orders, as he doesn’t think she would have given up her possessions.
“My guess is my wife can be stubborn and she wasn’t going to give up her money and cellphone,” the husband told NBC 11.
According to a report from The Washington Post, another delivery person was with McCormack when their car broke down. He confirmed with Baltimore police that two men had attempted to rob them, telling the officers that one of the individuals had shot her when she would not give up her belongings.
As of yet, police have not released any information on the suspects, though they are asking anyone with information regarding the case to call Baltimore police at 410-396-2100 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 866-7LOCKUP.
In the midst of this tragedy, McCormack’s husband and children are trying to come to grips with her death.
“My concerns right now are with the family. I have three kids — my two oldest are helping me out tremendously,” McCormack’s husband said.
“I have a 19-year-old and he’s in shock. And then, I have my brother-in-law, who’s my left arm. And that’s how we look at it,” he added.
Cheryl has been described as a popular, loving person, who worked as a DoorDash driver and manager of La Scala restaurant in Little Italy.
The area where she was killed was less than a mile from the restaurant.
