Roger Stone, President Trump’s longtime political advisor, made a huge announcement on his Parler account on Christmas Eve. According to Stone’s announcement, he is planning a lawsuit against the Department of Justice, and several specific department figures that were involved in his prosecution and the investigation that led to it.
The $25 million lawsuit was announced in a post on the alternative social media site Parler.
“The terms of my pardon allow me to sue the Department of Justice, Robert Mueller, James Comey, John Brennan, Rod Rosenstein, Josnathan Kravis (sic), Aaron … Zelinsky, Jeanie Rhee (sic), and Michael Morando,” Stone wrote.
“My lawyers will be filing formal complaints for prosecutorial misconduct’s with DOJ office of professional responsibility at the same time I file a 25 million dollar lawsuit against the DOJ and each of these individuals personally,” his post continued.
“In fact, I am going to add Bill Barr to the lawsuit and I will handle his cross-examination personally,” Stone added.
Stone is suing the DOJ after he was convicted by a Washington jury for lying under oath to officials involved in the Russia Collusion hoax investigation.
The political advisor was found guilty of one count that he “corruptly influenced, obstructed, and impeded” the congressional investigation, and one count of attempting to “corruptly persuade” congressional testimony of radio show host Randy Credico, and five counts of lying to the House Intelligence Committee regarding contact he had with WikiLeaks during the 2016 campaign, according to reporting by the Washington Examiner.
Stone’s sentence was commuted by President Trump in July, one day before he was to begin serving his sentence of three years and four months. This week, Trump issued several pardons, and Stone was among them.
In a statement, Stone thanked the president for “completely erasing the criminal conviction to which I was subjected in a Soviet-style show trial on politically-motivated charges.”
In another post on Parler, Stone wrote: “God Delivered me from my persecutors and now God’s vengence will be on the corrupt public officials who attempted to railroad me. God’s vengeance will be terrible as well as swift.”
The lawsuit against the Justice Department and corrupt actors within it such as James Comey and John Brennan, if successful, could be the beginning of holding members of the deep state accountable for their actions, especially for their attempt to undermine President Trump.
