Kamala has near miss
The risk of death Kamala Harris had wasn’t anywhere close to an assassination attempt. She’s not important enough to make a serious target. Instead, she was nearly killed by a drunk driver.
It will be interesting to see if it was one who’s been through the justice system’s revolving door. Getting killed by someone who should have been prosecuted but wasn’t is an appropriate dose of karma, some would say.
The driver who almost creamed Kamala has been identified as a “55-year-old local man.” He apparently “drove up an exit ramp onto the wrong side of I-794 at St. Paul Avenue and motored past the Democratic nominee and her entourage of vehicles within seconds.”
If it had been a hardcore jihadist with an itch for martyrdom doing it intentionally, she wouldn’t be here today.
The reportedly inebriated driver pulled to his right “as the first car in the motorcade passed.” All the flashing red and blue lights were distracting.
More than a dozen cars had them, including the one delivering Kamala to the airport. A deputy bringing up the rear got stuck with the assignment of pulling over the drunk.
Flunked field sobriety
As a courtesy, the Milwaukee County Sheriff provided traffic escorts. Nobody expected a wrong-way drunk driver on the freeway at exactly the right time to crash into Kamala Harris.
The timing and circumstances had to be giving the cops a touch of anxiety. The deputy’s position at the back of the line made him the obvious choice to respond.
Once he had the car pulled over, it didn’t take long for the deputy to confirm it wasn’t a professional killer or radical terrorist behind the wheel, only an ordinary drunk driver. He “failed multiple field sobriety tests” and was immediately arrested.
He had no idea he had almost killed Kamala. “The man was apparently just as confused as those who spotted his headlights on the one-way section of the interstate.”
When the deputy informed him he “almost struck a vehicle in the VPOTUS’ motorcade, he was extremely surprised.” He has nothing against her, he told police. He didn’t even know how he got where he was.
The driver “had no recollection of entering the freeway or coming close to striking another vehicle.” There was at least one open beer can in the car. Kamala didn’t breathe until she was safely off the ground on Air Force Two.
