The left-wing media is claiming that a prominent member of the GOP has died due to COVID, but that is a blatant lie. According to a hospital official, Representative-elect Luke Letlow, of Louisiana, suffered a heart attack following a procedure.

Letlow, 41, was receving treatment for COVID in the intensive care unit at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport at the time of his death on Tuesday, December 29.

Chancellor of LSU Health Shreveport, G.E. Ghali, has since confirmed that Letlow was undergoing an operation related to his battle with coronavirus and later went into cardiac arrest.

“It’s devastating to our entire team,” Ghali told the paper, noting that he “had no underlying conditions.”

The GOP Congressman-elect first announced that he tested positive for COVID on December 18, and informed the public that he was quarantining at his home in Richland Parish.

Unfortunately, his health began to deteriorate quickly, and he was admitted to St. Francis Medical Center on December 19, and eventually transferred to Ochsner LSU Health.

Luke Letlow is survived by his wife, Julia Barnhill Letlow, and his children, 3 year old Jeremiah and 11 month old Jacqueline.

“The family appreciates the numerous prayers and support over the past days but asks for privacy during this difficult and unexpected time,” Letlow’s spokesman, Andrew Bautsch, said in a statement to the Monroe News-Star.

Letlow was to be sworn in to Congress on Sunday, December 3 after he won Louisiana’s 5th District seat in a runoff race on December 5.

Leftist Reactions

Left-wing Twitter activists and media personalities “couldn’t wait to begin their grave-dancing,” according to a Yahoo News article. Some stated that he deserved to die because he didn’t take COVID seriously enough, searching his online presence for any proof he engaged in “denialism.”

Vox’s Aaron Rupar shared a since-deleted video from October where then-candidate Letlow advocated for reopening the economy while maintaining state and federal precautions on COVID.

“Congressman-elect Letlow, 41, just died of Covid. A tragedy,” his initial tweet read.

Rupar followed up with: “I mean it sincerely — Letlow’s death is tragic. It was also avoidable. It shouldn’t take tragedies for policymakers to treat the coronavirus pandemic with the seriousness it deserves.”

Rupar’s leftist Twitter followers immediately piled on to attack Letlow.

One Twitter user’s comment on the post read: “I’m confident he’ll have no issues following the 6 ft rule from here on out ( under?)!”

Another response read: “A 41 year old Covid denier dying of Covid isn’t a tragedy. It is just pathetic.”

One reply about Letlow’s death simply read: “Karma.”

Hundreds more of his followers joined in, blaming Letlow for his own death and expressing that he was unworthy of pity because of his political party and views. To leftists and members of the left-wing media, his death was proof that anyone who disagrees with them deserves to die.
