California Governor Gavin Newsom has done something that Joe Biden had refused to do… visit the southern border.
When his trip was announced, I had stated how odd I thought it was considering that Newsom has expressed his full support for Joe Biden to run again in 2024.
It now appears as though Newsom may have set Biden up.
Change of Heart
Immigration is a key issue for the GOP, and now Newsome is throwing his own jabs at Biden on this front.
On Monday, Newsom stated, “The fact is, what we’ve got right now is not working and is about to break in a post-42 world unless we take some responsibility and ownership.”
He was referring to Title 42, or the Remain in Mexico policy that was slated to end on December 20.
He continued, “I’m saying that as a father.
“I’m saying that as someone that feels responsible for being part of the solution and I’m trying to do my best here.”
Newsom added, “The more we do, the burden is placed disproportionate on us.
“We’re already at capacity at nine of our sites.
“We can’t continue to fund all of these sites because of the budgetary pressures now being placed on this state and the offsetting issues that I have to address.… The reality is, unless we’re doing what we’re doing, people will end up on the streets.”
Texas has been dealing with this crisis for more than two years, and Newsom has never said a word, instead throwing shade at Abbott when he tried to draw national attention the problem.
And I don’t know if he has seen the recent shots from El Paso, but people are already in the streets.
