GOP primary races are heating up and several Trump allies have thrown their hats in the ring including Morgan Ortagus who is now in the race.
Let the Race Begin
Ortagus was the Administration State Department spokesperson under the Trump administration.
She has officially announced that she will seek the Republican nominations to represent the state of Tennessee in its 5th Congressional District.
However, it appears that Ortagus hasn’t always been a Trump supporter and actually campaigned for RINO Jeb Bush but then, later on, went to work for the 45th president.
Can She Be Trusted?
When asked about this, she responded:
“Listen, this is very simple. It’s very easy. You know, I’ve supported Donald Trump since he was the nominee six years ago. I’ve worked for him. I defended him. It was really the honor of a lifetime to be state department spokesman. I mean, that’s really a dream job, especially somebody like me.”
Some of the harsh words Ortagus had for Trump included:
“Quite frankly, I don’t want someone with the temperament of a middle school pubescent boy in the president’s office.”
It appears that despite these past remarks, Donald Trump still allowed her into his administration and seems to support the Republican candidate.
The primary field race is not easy seeing as Ortagus is going up against Robby Starbuck, Baxter Lee, Natasha Brooks and Kurt Winstead.
Big Competition
Some of these are big-name people including a music video director and a former Tennessee National Guard Brigadier.
But that’s not all. Ortagus will face someone who was the Tennessee State House speaker at one point, Beth Harwell. And the county mayor Andy Ogles is also throwing his hat in the race.
Ortagus certainly has many obstacles to face just to win the primaries let alone bet out the Democrat challenger. She is a new resident of Tennessee which also might hurt her chances.
With so many qualified challengers, it is uncertain whether former Trump administration employees will be able to win the race to the legislature.
