House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) brutally ripped on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) throughout an interview for a new book, stating that the far-left legislator almost cost Democrats their majority in the US House of Representatives. The growing rift between the two House leaders of opposing wings of the Democrat party could signal a nightmare scenario for leftists going into the 2022 midterms.
Pelosi’s most recent jab at Ocasio-Cortez is included in the new book, “This Will Not Pass,” which is slated to be launched in early May.

Pelosi privately blames progressives for nearly costing Democrats the House and said AOC and Jayapal were fighting to be “queen bee” of the left. “In a few strictly confidential conversations she pointed a finger leftward. Pelosi told one senior lawmaker that Democrats had alienated Asian and Hispanic immigrants with loose talk of socialism. In some of the same communities, the Italian Catholic speaker said, Democrats had not been careful enough about the way they spoke about abortion among new Americans who were devout people of faith.”
During the infrastructure vote, Pelosi was angry “and in private she vented about the progressive blockade that had forced her to cancel the infrastructure vote. … She told another House Democrat that Pramila Jayapal and Ocasio-Cortez were vying to be the ‘queen bee’ of the left, but that their reward might be serving in the House minority after the next election.”
Pelosi further went after Ocasio-Cortez throughout interviews that she gave for a brand-new bio by USA Today Washington bureau chief Susan Page.
Pelosi spoke 10 different times with Page for the book, arranged for release April 20. Throughout the interviews, Pelosi took several opportunities to criticize a number of popular members of her own party again like Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan. She ridicules Ocasio-Cortez particularly for her youth and obvious lack of knowledge, according to Axios:
Pelosi unloads on the Squad, at one point adopting a child-like voice when discussing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and offers the Squad this blunt advice: “You’re not a one-person show. This is the Congress of the United States.”
Pelosi has actually consistently chastised Ocasio-Cortez and the other 3 far-left House Democrats, informing The New York Times in 2019: “All these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world. But they didn’t have any following. They’re four people and that’s how many votes they got.”
Pelosi also mocked Ocasio-Cortez Ocasio-Cortez in an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” in April of 2019, while dismissing the far-left wing of the Democrat party.
“So you are contending with a group in Congress: Over here on the left flank are these self-described socialists, on the right, these moderates,” host Lesley Stahl said. “And you yourself said that you’re the only one who can unify everybody. And the question is, can you?”
“By and large, whatever orientation they came to Congress with, they know that we have to hold the center,” Pelosi responded. “That we have to go down the mainstream.”
“You have these wings — AOC, and her group on one side —” Lesley responded.
“That’s like five people,” Pelosi fired back.
Pelosi likewise formerly informed an audience that a “glass of water” with a “D” next to it “would win” in Ocasio-Cortez’s district.
