That just got started with a big suit in Nevada.
Just about every power that is in the GOP has joined the suit to challenge current mail-in ballot rules.
Fix It
The current law in Nevada is utterly ridiculous.
Votes can be counted that are post-marked as much as four days after the election.
The suit was filed by the Trump campaign, the RNC, and the State GOP, against the Nevada Secretary of State by Cari-Ann Burgess, the Washoe County Registrar of Voters, Jan Galassini, the Washoe County Clerk, Lorena Portillo, the Clark County Registrar of Voters, and Lynn Marie Goya, the Clark County Clerk, the RNC, Trump campaign and the Nevada GOP is “to enforce one critical component of Nevada’s post-election day counting of ballots.”
The legislation was introduced by then-Governor Steve Sisolak, a Democrat, as Democrats ran roughshod over Republicans to override state constitutions and change election laws all over the country.
Michael McDonald, the chairman of the Nevada Republican Party, stated, “We are committed to ensuring the integrity of Nevada’s elections and inspiring voter confidence.
“Allowing ballots without postmarks to be illegally counted undermines both.
“We will continue to fight for fair elections for all Nevadans where only legal votes are counted and the system is secure.”
The fact they are allowing votes after election day is just baffling, and there is no need for it.
We now have early voting that starts weeks before the election, as well as mail-in and absentee voting, so there is simply no reason to file that late.
We need to get all of this sorted and fixed so that we have a confirmed winner by the end of election night, not weeks later as votes continue to drip in.
RNC Chairman Michael Whatley agreed, stating, “Counting ballots received after Election Day without a postmark creates a concerning and potentially fraudulent impact on Nevada’s elections.
“We are filing this lawsuit to ensure that Nevada law is followed and promote election integrity in the Silver State.”
