In their attempts to set up a trap for an election fraud whistleblower, Democrats have set themselves up for serious backlash.
The Democrat-run House Oversight Committee sent out a series of tweets claiming that one of the key whistleblowers in the case against election fraud perpetrated by the Democrats.
In the tweets, the Oversight Committee cited the U.S. Postal Service’s Office of the Inspector General in their claim that the whistleblower “completely recanted” his allegations.
“BREAKING NEWS: Erie, Pa. #USPS whistleblower completely RECANTED his allegations of a supervisor tampering with mail-in ballots after being questioned by investigators, according to IG,” read one tweet.

In a second tweet, the committee said “IG investigators informed Committee staff today that they interviewed Hopkins on Friday, but that Hopkins RECANTED HIS ALLEGATIONS yesterday and did not explain why he signed a false affidavit.”
Here are the supposed “facts,” as presented by Democrats:

The Democrats and their mainstream media allies have been doing everything that they possibly can to prevent the American people from hearing about serious allegations of voter fraud and irregularities. These claims from the House Democrats fed perfectly into the media’s narrative.
Soon after the tweets were posted, the Washington Post reported that the whistleblower had recanted his allegations in a sworn affidavit, and that he had told postal investigators that he fabricated his claims.
The left-wing newspaper cited “three officials briefed on the investigation,” as usual keeping their identities anonymous.
The Whistleblower
Richard Hopkins, a postal worker, has alleged in an affidavit that he overheard one of his superiors telling USPS staff to backdate ballots that had been mailed after Election Day. After hearing reports that he had recanted his allegations, Hopkins appeared in a video posted by Project Veritas to double down on his claims.
In the video, Hopkins mentions the Washington Post article, which he had pulled up on his phone, stating, “I’m here to say that I did not recant my statement, that did not happen.”
“That is not what happened and you will find out tomorrow. And I would like the Washington Post to recant their wonderful little article,” he added.

James O’Keefe, the founder of Project Veritas, shared the video on Twitter, claiming that the reporters from the Post story “have been played by the same federal agents on the audio ‘coercing,’ ‘scaring’ the whistleblower to water down allegations.”
O’Keefe, in a separate tweet, released audio of Hopkins being interviewed by the investigators.
“RECORDING: Federal agents ‘coerce’ USPS whistleblower Hopkins to water down story. Hopkins doubles down…,” O’Keefe tweeted, to set up the audio.
