Shop NowCNN host Abby Phillip touted her show’s supposed success, but neglected to mention that Republican commentator Scott Jennings’ presence on her show is largely responsible for the higher viewership.
In a post on X, Phillip shared data highlighting the recent rating of her show, “CNN NewsNight” — but her critics were quick to point out that the true reason her show has become popular on the leftist cable news network was the regular appearances of Scott Jennings.
I refuse to be lectured about "accountability" from Democrats after they lied about the condition of President Biden and STILL refuse to admit it. pic.twitter.com/5xR4Q9xAoi

The post included an excerpt from a CNN Public Relations press release, which showed that “CNN NewsNight” was the network’s top performer in the important 25-54 age demographic for three months in a row. The press release also showed that her audience is continuing to grow.
“NewsNight with Abby Phillip continues to be a standout performer for CNN, ranking as the network’s most watched program among P25-54 for the third consecutive month,” Phillip quoted in the post. “Further, NewsNight grew by impressive, double-digit margins year-over-year among both demos.”

Of course, she failed to mention the most popular part of her show: Scott Jennings. The Republican commentator has gone viral on numerous occasions for his hilarious, fact-based clap backs at the rest of her panel, all of whom are Democrats. Jennings, who seemingly has no trouble in a lopsided debate against multiple Democrat panelists, has become incredibly popular among conservatives on social media for his sharp but civil retorts and his facial expressions similar to Jim Halpern from “The Office,” where he stares into the camera with an exasperated look.
“Thanks solely to @ScottJenningsKY,” Tomi Lahren wrote in response to Phillip’s post.

“As a lifelong Dem, I can tell you with certainty you can thank @ScottJenningsKY for that. Otherwise, like most of your programming, it would be insufferable,” another user wrote.

Even popular leftist radio host Charlamagne tha God has previously admitted his admiration of Jennings, stating: “I wish they had more people like Scott Jennings though. Because I feel like Scott Jennings really, really does take it serious, even though he holds his side down. I think a lot of times, they have Republicans on here who are just there just to throw grenades, just to cause the conflict. But Scott actually — I think Scott actually gives a f—k a little bit, you know what I mean? A lot of bit actually.”
