The Conservative movement of America mourns today as the news has broken: America’s Anchorman has gone to his well earned rest. Rush Limbaugh has died after a years long battle with stage 4 lung cancer. Limbaugh’s wife Kathryn made the announcement on a rare appearance on the Rush Limbaugh show Wednesday morning.
Kathryn told Rush’s audience,
“Hello everyone, I know that I am most certainly not the Limbaugh that you tuned in to listen to today. I like you, very much wish Rush was behind this golden microphone right now, welcoming you to another exceptional broadcasting 3 hours of broadcasting.
For over 32 years, Rush has cherished you his loyal audience and always looked forward to every single show. It is with profound sadness, that I must share with you directly that our beloved Rush, my wonderful husband passed away this morning due to complications from lung cancer.
As so many of you know, losing a loved one is terribly difficult. Even more so when that loved one is larger than life. Rush will forever be the greatest of all time. Rush was an extraordinary man. A gentle giant, brilliant, quick witted, genuinely kind, extremely generous, passionate, courageous and the hardest working person I know.
Despite being one of the most recognized, powerful people in the world, Rush never let the success change his core or beliefs. He was polite and respectful to everyone he met.”

In his final broadcast of 2020 Rush thanked his audience and supporters revealing that he had succeeded in outliving his prognosis, “I wasn’t expected to be alive today,” he said. “I wasn’t expected to make it to October, and then to November, and then to December. And yet, here I am, and today, got some problems, but I’m feeling pretty good today.”
Shortly after announcing his Cancer diagnosis in January 2020, President Trump presented the broadcasting legend called by Ann Coulter “The Super Nova of American conservatism” with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in well deserved honor of his decades of service to the American people.
So sad. The Super Nova of American conservatism is dead.

My friend Rush Limbaugh was the most influential commentator in the world. He created a whole new genre. A genius, patriot, humorist, great golf partner, and a generous kind man.
We will miss him but he lives on in heaven and on earth with those he inspired.

The legacy of Rush Limbaugh is clear: the most successful radio broadcaster in history. Mr. Limbaugh provided a conservative balance against the dangerous left wing corporate media machine.
