Former Hawaii Congresswoman and ex-Democrat turned independent Tulsi Gabbard announced that she will be campaigning in Arizona for Republican candidates.
Republican Gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and U.S. Senate candidate Blake Masters announced with Gabbard that she will join them at a young Republican forum according to The Daily Wire.

Gabbard tweeted a lengthy explanation for her followers for her political alliance with Lake and Masters. She wrote, “For too long establishment leaders from both parties have sought to enrich themselves, play games, and build up their power while ignoring and even enabling the suffering of millions of hard-working Americans. Kari Lake is a leader who puts people first, is fighting for border security, energy independence, public safety, and other policies that actually make life better and more affordable for the American people.”

She added that Lake is not intimidated by the mainstream media or the “warmongering elitist cabal.”
“Kari Lake isn’t afraid to call out the warmongering elitist cabal of permanent Washington and the Military Industrial Complex, and their propagandists in the mainstream media. I look forward to supporting @KariLake ahead of these critical midterm elections,” she wrote.
The young Republicans forum will also feature Arizona Attorney General candidate Abraham Hamadeh.
The development puts Lake and Masters in an interesting political position: enjoying the endorsement of both the independent, and somewhat moderate (by comparison to say Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for example) Gabbard, and former President Donald Trump.
This could be a crucial advantage for both candidates locked in tight races, allowing them to lock in Arizona’s distinctly America-First Republicans in addition to ‘Walk-Away’ former Democrats and moderate independents.
According to the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office, independent voters in Arizona account for 33.72% of the electorate, second only to registered Republicans.
