There are some political rivalries, some rhetorical sparring matches that echo through the ages as some of the greatest examples of discourse in American, and even world history. One calls to memory the legendary Lincoln-Douglas debate, the incredible Webster-Hayne debates which articulated and conceptualized the nationhood of the adolescent American Republic, or the vicious ripostes which erupted between Winston Churchill and Clement Attlee in Britain. More recently the heated exchanges between Nixon and Kennedy, or the mighty Gipper himself Ronald Reagan who in turn decimated Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale and hilariously agreed with George H.W. Bush in 1980. These were fascinating and deep debates and rivalries. The current spat between “AOC” Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-GA) or “MTG” regrettably… is not one of them.
The latest episode in this months-old feud of the fierce America-First Georgia Congresswoman and the Bronx bartender turned poster-child for the Socialist takeover of the Democrat party, piqued national attention on June 26th with Rep. Greene at a rally for President Trump in Wellington, Ohio referring to “AOC” as “the little communist from New York City” moving the audience to boo, and chant “lock her up”.
“Yeah, lock her up too. That’s a good idea,” Greene said. “She’s not an American. She really doesn’t embrace our American ways. Not at all. You want to know why? She has something called the ‘Green New Deal,’ which is complete socialism. And in every single bill the Democrats are trying to pass they have the Green New Deal written all in. You want to know what that’s going to do to us? America, it’s going to put us on our knees and we’ll be controlled by China. Do you want that to happen? No, I don’t either ”

To wit: the ‘honorable member from New York’ quipped ” First of all, I’m taller than her.” notably failing to address Congresswoman Greene’s assessment of her as a communist. This would prove to be a fatal tactical error.

Rep. Greene immediately took the opening with a sharp reply: “But you’re still a commie”

Rep. Greene Seems To Have Won This Round Against AOC
By the estimation of The New York Post, “Greene is 5-3 and Ocasio-Cortez is 5-6.” they also cited a few of the pair’s earlier bouts.
“In April, Greene posted a photo of the two on the House floor, adding “I’m glad I ran into you today @AOC to plan our debate about the Green New Deal.”
“After I finish reading all 14 pages, like we agreed, I’ll schedule time for our debate,” Greene wrote on Twitter.
And in May, Greene followed Ocasio-Cortez down a House corridor, calling out to her, “Hey, Alexandria,” claiming that she supported “terrorists.”
Ocasio-Cortez reacted by throwing her hands into the air in frustration.”
While the rivalry between the two Congresswomen isn’t quite as austere or refined as some of the others aforementioned, it’s at least proven a somewhat entertaining diversion and a suitable aggravation for Ocasio-Cortez which definitely endears Greene with the America-First GOP base.
