News broke today that Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-CO) would be forming the “America First Caucus” alongside Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) and potentially Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX). Following massive, disingenous leftist generated, media propogated backlash, the effort has been scrapped.
Immediately social media leftists and even some establishment Republicans like House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy began decrying it for a reference to “Anglo Saxon political traditions” which was torturously warped and manipulated to lend the phrase a racist connotation and reference to “European Architecture” in infrastructure both of which McCarthy insinuated were “dog-whistles” to nativists “The Republican Party is the party of Lincoln & the party of more opportunity for all Americans—not nativist dog whistles,””
RINO Chair of the GOP Confernce Rep. Liz Cheney jumped into the fray immediately tweeting,
Republicans believe in equal opportunity, freedom, and justice for all. We teach our children the values of tolerance, decency and moral courage. Racism, nativism, and anti-Semitism are evil. History teaches we all have an obligation to confront & reject such malicious hate.

Congressman Ken Buck also of Colorado was quick to distance himself from MTG’s efforts as well saying in a tweet “The hatefulness of this statement is only surpassed by its ignorance of American history and values.”
Punchbowl.news released a draft seven-page platform paper on the group which referred to America in context as
” a nation with a border, and a culture, strengthened by a common respect for uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions”
and called for Infrastructure that
“reflects the architectural, engineering and aesthetic value that befits the progeny of European architecture, whereby public infrastructure must be utilitarian as well as stunningly, classically beautiful, befitting a world power and source of freedom.”
These statements in context with the entirety of the document reveal absolutely no racist, misogynistic, chauvinistic or white supremacist character. The entire document is archived, in the event of deletion by punchbowl.
A group of House Republicans, led by Rep. @MTGreenee, is leading the creation of the #AmericaFirstCaucus to focus on nationwide #ElectionReform, limiting the power of #BigTech, and cutting down on #IllegalImmigration. https://t.co/VWgRbZhcok

The Backlash and The Walk-Back of The America First Caucus
Shortly after #AngloSaxon began trending and establishment GOP figures clung to the life rafts Congresswoman Greene’s spokesperson Nick Dyer told Forbes, the platform was “never approved or agreed to by Congresswoman Greene,”
“She’s not planning on launching it at this time,” the spokesperson said, adding that it was “in the early planning stages” but that the publication of the document by Punchbowl “[blew] it all up.”
Congressman Paul Gosar shortly after released a statement due to multiple outlets claiming him as the platform’s author he said in the statement,
“The liberal media have recklessly claimed I am the author of a document. Let me be perfectly clear, I did not author this paper. In fact, I first became aware of it by reading about it in the news yesterday, like everyone else.
Imagine my surprise to read I “wrote it.” I will continue to work on America First issues in the House Freedom Caucus. Once again, I am the subject of a false media story. I will not let the lying media deter me from the America First work I have been championing for years in the House Freedom Caucus and with President Trump,”
According to reports the venerable Louie Gohmert of Texas who journalists said had “agreed to join” reiterated that he was “looking” to join and said he hadn’t seen” the language on immigration and that the America First Caucus is “not supposed to be about race”
“We’re stronger, you know, as diversified,” Gohmert said “there’s some things that helped make us strong – slavery nearly destroyed us, it was a horrendous thing.” Not a single Republican worth voting for has objected to the language in the now scuttled America First Caucus platform, of all the politicians and media there are only those who are perpetuating the fraudulent interpretation, and those taken in by it, and the rest of us who see this for what it is: a hit job.
