Whoa…High Ranking Democrat Just Stepped Down

It’s been a month since Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett was sworn in. And whoa, a high ranking Democrat just stepped down. It looks like they’re still angry about that one.

We’ve known it was coming ever since she congratulated and praised Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham with a congenial hug after Barrett’s contentious hearing. The Associated Press wrote then:

“It was the hug that may define — or doom — a long Senate career.”

Aaaaand… its Doom. California Senator Dianne Feinstein released that she will step aside as Ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee following scathing criticism from her party for her bipartisanship during the hearings to replace Justice Ruth Bader-Ginsburg.

“This has been one of the best set of hearings that I’ve participated in,” Feinstein said of the Coney Barrett hearings and her fate was sealed.

Feinstein, elected in 1992 was appointed Ranking Democrat on the powerful Judiciary committee in 2017. It seems that an embrace that lasted about three seconds will be the swan song to cap off a career that spanned three decades.

Make no mistake: Feinstein is no friend of conservatives or Republicans, she’s proven that time and time again. But there is something unsettling about her action, which many would describe as: decent, polite, graceful or even honorable in defeat, being rewarded with scorn. This is bipartisanship and loyal opposition at it’s lowest point.

As Calmatters.org wrote the “Left wing wants to cancel Dianne Feinstein” they continued,

“Immediately, leftist activists demanded that Feinstein be stripped of her Judiciary seat and the Senate’s top Democrat, Chuck Schumer, refused to publicly back her.”

An early indication of trouble came when the Senate Minority Leader told reporters, “I’ve had a long and serious talk with Sen. Feinstein.”

If it wasn’t clear before, it is crystal clear now: the Progressive-Socialist takeover of the Democratic Party is complete. ‘Relatively moderate’ democrats like Feinstein are being shuffled out. And establishment leaders like Schumer and Speaker Nancy Pelosi capitulating to the far-left’s demands. It is over.

Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch summed it up nicely:

Who is likely to replace her as Ranking Democrat?

Brace yourselves folks, for Illinois Senator Dick Durbin. Durbin is a familiar face to those who have followed the slow descent of the Democratic party into full-blown progressive-socialism. He held daily press-conferences throughout the confirmation , attacking President Trump’s execution of his duty to fill Ginsburg’s seat. Durbin made his ambitions for the position quite clear.

“We have to roll up our sleeves and get to work on undoing the damage of the last four years and protecting fundamental civil and human rights,” Durbin said.

Graham Reacts

As anyone with a hint of decency would, Senator Lindsey Graham made a dismayed statement,

“I hate the fact that saying something nice about me, about the way I conducted the hearings, has gotten to the point now that people will drive you out of office,”
