After failing in every attempt to stop the Arizona audit, Democrats have pulled out the big guns: the weaponized Department of Justice.
Democrats have been known to weaponize the various departments of the federal government, like how former President Barack Obama used the IRS to target conservatives. Now, they are using the DOJ to do their bidding.
Biden administration officials from the DOJ are attempting to insert themselves into the ballot audit, despite the fact that they have no authority in the matter.
“The United States Constitution grants the power to oversee elections exclusively to state legislatures, meaning the federal government has no authority to interfere in the audit,” reports One America News.
Of course, Democrats, and especially Joe Biden, love to ignore the Constitution when it suits them.
The civil rights division of the DOJ has sent a letter to the president of the Arizona Senate, Karen Fann, expressing their concerns over the audit.
Along with claiming that using an outside contractor for the audit violates a federal law that requires ballots to remain in the control of elections officials for 22 months, Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Pamela S. Karlan claims that the audit somehow amounts to voter intimidation.
Part of the current audit includes directly contacting voters in order to ensure that the ballots cast in their name were cast legally, which Karlan says may constitute illegal voter intimidation.
“Past experience with similar investigative efforts around the country has raised concerns that they can be directed at minority voters, which potentially can implicate the anti-intimidation prohibitions of the Voting Rights Act,” she wrote. “Such investigative efforts can have a significant intimidating effect on qualified voters that can deter them from seeking to vote in the future.”
One America News obtained the letter from the Department of Justice that was a clear attempt to stop the audit. According to OAN:
“The letter appears to be prompted by an April 30 letter from the Brennan Center, a far-left liberal group, to the Department of Justice asking them to intervene in the audit.
It appears the DOJ took the Brennan Center’s request to heart because their letter Wednesday asked for the state Senate’s ‘response to the concerns described herein, including advising us of the steps that the Arizona Senate will take to ensure that violations of federal law do not occur.’
The letter was fairly benign and only cited media reports as evidence.
The main issues raised were with regard to voting rights, especially for minority voters, and the security of the facility, both of which have been easily addressed by the Senate. In fact, the letter did not include a single piece of factual evidence on which the DOJ could base their concerns.”

It seems Democrats are getting desperate. Are they trying to hide something? They have already sued the Arizona Senate four times, trying to stop the audit. Each attempt failed. Curiously, the letter from the DOJ cites the exact same concerns that Democrats raised during each lawsuit. This means that the Senate has “four court opinions that they can send to the DOJ to refute their claims and say their concerns are baseless at this time,” according to OAN.
It is clear that Democrats have weaponized the Department of Justice. The question is, will the courts allow this blatant attempt to ignore the Constitution and meddle in the election affairs of Arizona?
