Darcy once worked for the Daily Caller and The Blaze, both conservative-leaning organizations.
In his report for CNN, Darcy wrote:
Right-wing extremist Tucker Carlson announced Tuesday that he will relaunch his program on Twitter, which he praised as the only remaining large free-speech platform in the world after Fox News fired him late last month.
Carlson made the announcement in a video posted to the social media website, which Elon Musk acquired last year. Musk said Twitter did not sign an agreement with Carlson for his new show.

Twitter has devolved in recent months into a chaotic platform where the traditional press has come under assault from the billionaire.
It’s clear that the Left is extremely upset over Musk’s takeover of the social media platform. Once a Bastian for most left-leaning thought, Musk’s takeover of Twitter has led Republicans and conservatives to actually be able to share their views without being censored.
The Left has also forgotten that just because a voice has been silenced on mainstream media outlets doesn’t mean the voice in question has no other options.
.@donlemon should take up @elonmusk's invitation to do a show on Twitter like Tucker Carlson. We need a social media town square where ALL voices are allowed to speak freely on an even playing field. I think Twitter can be that place. May the best ideas win. pic.twitter.com/J13Y89g9FE

Those on Twitter did not let Darcy’s labeling of Tucker as a right-wing extremist go, as many responded to the CNN article.
The post had close to 29K comments and 13K likes at the writing of this article.
Tucker highlighted in his announcement video that Twitter is the last big platform that allows free speech, calling it “the fundamental pre-requisite for democracy.”
