At the very least, he appears to be “profiting from slave labor.” Will he get fired over it? Of course not. The Biden mob is “so desperate for a climate deal with the Chinese Communist Party that they are willing to ignore the regime’s use of slave labor.”
John Kerry ‘owns’ slaves
Well, John Kerry says, it’s not me who has the ownership interest in Hillhouse China Value Fund L.P., it’s his wife. They have accountants to act as cutouts as well. That way, they can deny any knowledge of profiting from slave labor.
Marco Rubio calls their plausible deniability implausible. He took out a full page in the press on Friday, October 15, calling for the Climate Czar “to be fired” for “his alleged ownership stake in a Chinese investment fund that has been linked to human rights abuses against China’s Uyghur population.”
Leveraging his position as top Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Rubio noted the former Secretary of State’s ownership stake in Hillhouse China Value Fund L.P., which only surfaced in February. He then slammed the so-called climate czar’s “opposition” to Rubio’s Uyghur Forced Labor Act.
Now, he knows why Kerry is fighting so hard against it. He makes money from the abuse. It would hurt his bank balance if we “bar Chinese goods produced in Xinjiang with slave labor from being imported into the U.S.”
“For weeks, rumors have swirled in Washington,” about the climate czar’s “opposition to taking concrete action against the Chinese Communist Party’s use of slave labor,” the senator penned.
“Now, we may have an answer about his reluctance to take action: according to a new report, Kerry and his wife have at least $1 million invested in a Chinese investment group called Hillhouse China Value Fund L.P.”
Raises serious questions
After the story broke in the Washington Free Beacon, which was the first outlet to report on the links between the diplomat and Uyghur slaves, Rubio pointed out that this “financial connection” with the Chinese investment fund “raises serious questions as to whether Kerry can negotiate in good faith with Beijing on climate change.”
It appears like he’s already on their payroll and well greased to hand them anything they ask for.
“But it gets worse,” Rubio added. Not only does the investment fund encourage slave labor, they in turn own another abhorrent company which “has been blacklisted for alleged abuses in Xinjiang.”
It turns out that the fund is “part of the Hillhouse Capital Group, a private equity firm operated by Chinese billionaire Zhang Lei.” He has his finger in all the pies and apparently also has his thumb on John Kerry.
The fund “is a top shareholder in YITU Technology, a Chinese technology company that President Donald Trump’s administration added to a sanction’s blacklist in October 2019.”
He did that because of “alleged involvement in surveillance efforts against Uyghurs and other Muslim minority groups in China.” Rubio sums it up. “In other words, Kerry appears to be profiting from slave labor. Now it makes sense why he is actively working against my Uyghur Forced Labor Act.”
