I doubt anyone reading this would be surprised to know that corruption is deeply embedded in Washington D.C.
Of the hundreds of elected officials in DC, most Americans are only familiar with about a dozen or so of them.
Trust me, just because you have never heard of them does not mean that is a good thing, quite the opposite, actually.
Buy Them
If I say Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), most people would immediately know who you are talking about.
If I say Senator Angus King (I-ME), most people would have no clue who the man is.
Even so, both have access to the same money funnels but the argument could be made with Cruz having such a high profile, he needs to be far more careful than someone like King, who simply stays under the radar.
How do you get to buy a politician like King?
The easiest way is to load up those campaign coffers with independent donations and Super PAC money.
BlackRock recruiter Serge Varlay was caught in an undercover video admitting how his firm and others “buy” politicians.”
In part, he stated, “Campaign financing. Yup, you can buy your candidates.
“First there’s the senators. These guys are f***ing cheap.
“You got 10 grand? You can buy a senator.”
That backs up just about everything I have been saying for years.
As long as we have lobbyists and Super PACs, politicians will never truly represent the people that elected them office.
Their only concern is helping out the big money donors who keep their campaigns flush.
Sadly, the very people who benefit from this system are the only ones that can change it, and you better believe they have no intention of doing that anytime soon.
