MI6 tells Ukrainians what they’re fighting for
Neither country, for the record, has any desire to emulate the kind of degeneracy the United States has been aggressively exporting to the world in recent years.
Gay marriage is illegal in both Ukraine and Russia and if they are left to their own devices then that won’t be changing any time soon. Orthodox Christianity is still strong in these cultures.
The fact that the MI6 boss thinks that LGBT+ rights are at the heart of the fighting, rather than national pride and identity, is a very bad sign for Ukraine and Ukrainians.
Russian soldiers are invading Ukraine to take back land they see as rightfully Russian. Ukrainian soldiers are fighting to defend their homes. No one on the front lines is thinking about rainbow flags and drag queens.
As disrespectful as Richard Moore’s comment is to Ukrainian soldiers fighting for their country, it isn’t anything for the rest of the world to laugh about.
This is the man who leads MI6, one of the most powerful intelligence services in the world. His view of this conflict is the view common amongst most of the elites who are making the key decisions on either side of the Atlantic.
Selective nationalism
Recent events have made it clear (if it wasn’t already) that some of the most powerful people in the world would rather destroy whole nations and cultures than see a future in which there are no transgender kids in Kharkov and Kabul.

Ukrainians are fighting and dying to protect their independent national identity so that it can be passed on to future generations. Western elites see only a vessel for promoting the vague set of values and principles which make up the liberal world order.
