Shop NowJoe Biden was hoping to have former Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti serve as an Ambassador.
Well, that is not going to happen, at least not yet.
There is a little something in his past that needs to be cleared up first.
Little Marco
Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) has a problem with some skeletons in the closet of the former Mayor.
Rubio is putting a hold on the nomination because Garcetti “has ignored credible sexual assault accusations in his prior office” and called the nomination “absurd.”
Since Rubio is blocking the vote, the nomination cannot be moved forward by unanimous consent.
He continued, “I will not turn a blind eye to these absurd nominations, which will hasten America’s decline.”
The accusations are not against Garcetti, but against Rick Jacobs, a top adviser of his.
A report by Senator Chuck Grassley regarding the allegations stated, “Investigators believe this allegation is credible because it fits the pattern of behavior described by several other senior staff members in Mayor Garcetti’s office, and because of its similarity to allegations” in the lawsuit.
The White House responded in its usual matter, calling the report a “hit job.”
