Donald Trump has been calling on House Republicans to help him defend himself against the federal indictments he is facing.
So far, only one case has come to trial, the New York hush-money case brought by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg.
House Republicans just answered the call, accusing Bragg of conducting a “partisan” investigation into Trump.
GOP to the Rescue
A recent report was published by the House Judiciary Committee to hammer Bragg.
The report stated, “The story behind the [district attorney of New York’s] investigation into President Trump and the people involved illustrate the clear partisan aim of this case.”
A significant part of the report discusses former special prosecutor Mark Pomerantz, who avoided answering any questions when he was testifying before the committee, taking the 5th roughly 200 times.
Now, however, he has a book out on the subject.
The report addressed this, stating, “Pomerantz’s book, described as a ‘300-page exercise in score-settling and scorn,’ revealed the extent to which the DANY’s investigation of President Trump was politically motivated.
“Pomerantz described his eagerness to investigate President Trump, writing that he was ‘delighted’ to join an unpaid group of lawyers advising on the Trump investigation, and joking that salary negotiations had gone ‘great’ because he would have paid to join the investigation.”
Virtually every investigation being conducted by the House right now is to either protect Donald Trump or take down Joe Biden.
We are now almost two full years into the GOP having control of the House, and voters have yet to see anything definitive from these investigations.
Now just months away from the election, I think we can all agree it is time for Jordan and Comer to start sharing the fruits of their investigations by making some referrals to the DOJ.
