Shop NowFrank Reich, the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, has been fired.
The Colts have gotten off to a slow start.
That added to the fact that the one thing that Reich was known for, QB coaching, has been an utter disaster since he took over the team, was too much for ownership to take.
Gone
It was widely assumed that Reich would be safe simply because owner Jim Irsay has never made a mid-season firing.
Reich has had a quarterback carousel since taking over, exactly the opposite of what was expected.
With Matt Ryan now injured and Sam Ehlinger taking over, Irsay is clearly sending a message to the team.
It does not matter who is the QB, this team better win and it better win now.
As if more proof was needed, Irsay named Jeff Saturday the head coach.
Saturday played more than a decade for the Colts, but he absolutely has no experience as a coach, let alone being “the guy.”
This will be a tough assignment for Saturday, but we all wish him luck.
He was a total-class player on the field and off.
