Shop NowCharles Payne is generally an in-your-face kind of guy.
That is why it was so shocking to see him get very personal and break down into tears during a live segment.
Payne recounted how his family put everything at risk for a better future.
Risking It All
Payne’s family put it all on the line in the early 1950s to purchase a farm in Alabama.
He used his family’s example to encourage people to take a risk with their own financial investments.
He stated, “I got to share some of this with you because it is so powerful for anyone out there that thinks buying Amazon is a great risk.
“They gave everything they have for the property.
“It says, ‘we do hereby grant bargain and sell and convey unto the to the seller to describe the personal property and crops which are owned by us freely.
“One red horse mule named Red.
“One gray horse mule named Jack.
“One two-horse wagon, one hay mover, one hay press, nine head of mixed cattle, a cell hog, some wagons, mowers, presses.
“My grandparents gave everything. Everything they had.
“They worked their a** off for years, and they gave it all for 60 acres to have their own.
“That’s a risk, folks. That’s a risk. I’m so grateful.”
When you consider the obstacles that black people were facing back then, it makes the fact they risked this and were successful even more impressive.
Definitely not used to seeing Payne act like that, though.
Generally, he is getting in people’s faces, so I am sure the viewers appreciated seeing a bit softer side of him.
