It’s the leak of the century and everyone is scrambling to get it plugged. First, our intelligence agencies need to find it. While everyone in the spooky spy alphabet is frantically looking, the FBI is officially in charge. They aren’t completely clueless, this time, they beam. They have one. A leaked document “appears to be scanned from an officially printed briefing book.” It’s not much, they admit. They’ll keep us posted.

Leak not hack

The first critical question the Federal Bureau of Instigation needed to answer is whether the disclosure was a leak or a hack. While both are serious, they present entirely different situations. Embarrassingly, the information leaked. The feds are certain of that much. Antony Blinken went to Tel Aviv on Tuesday, grovelling before the Israel Defense Forces as they’re called him on the carpet for Joe and Kamala’s total failure.

Hezbollah shot missiles at his plane. On top of everything else, Joe’s handlers are trying to figure out how they knew Blinky was coming. They attacked the airport just as his flight was landing.

Israel wasn’t thrilled to see their plans for retaliation against Iran lying around on the internet where anyone could find them. The Ayatollah thought Ramadan came early this year. The leak of two “classified U.S. intelligence documents detailing Israeli preparations for an attack on Iran” couldn’t have come at a better time for Tehran.

Meanwhile, heat is on from the top down to “discover how they were leaked.” Nobody is allowed to talk but some leaks indicate that they’re “zeroing in on who had access to the documents.

The FBI is taking the lead but the Pentagon is watching over their shoulder, along with the NSA, GIA, DIA and the rest of the alphabet. The classification markings make it their problem, too.

As this is an ongoing investigation, we have no further comment,” the bureau officially wrote in a statement. The guy who handed it to the press was willing to leak as long as CNN kept his name out of the article.

No more yet

The propaganda department at the White House was quick to tell the press that so far, they haven’t seen anything else leaked out. They don’t think there will be another leak but they can’t really say for sure until they have someone in an interrogation room, somewhere.

The two reports which were exposed “appeared to have been produced by two Defense Department intelligence entities, the National Security Agency and the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency.” That means we were spying on our friends in Israel but everyone knew that already. One big secret which was revealed is confirmation of the suspicion that Israel really does have their own stash of nukes.

Things like that have “deeply alarmed American officials at a profoundly sensitive moment in U.S.-Israel relations.” That’s why Blinky was dodging missiles to land in Tel Aviv. Since the leak was revealed, investigators authenticated the documents. Next step is figuring out who had access to them. That’s not as easy as it sounds.

Both documents were widely accessible products, according to two sources familiar with U.S. intelligence” who leaked like a sieve to CNN.

They did catch one break. At “least one appears to be scanned from an officially printed briefing book.” It won’t take long to find out who printed it. That should narrow things down considerably. The thing which really terrifies U.S. leadership is the freshness of the information. The ultra-top secret reports were dated October 15 and 16. They were online and available to the general public by the 18th.

Another official leaked that the reports which were disclosed isn’t the scary part. What’s driving everyone nuts is that the leak happened at all. These aren’t low level reports from the field like the one Reality Winner stuffed down her pantyhose. “Although it’s quietly accepted that the U.S. spies even on its allies, to have American surveillance of Israel leaked publicly risks straining relations at a moment when the U.S. is desperately trying to bring to a close the series of interconnected conflicts in which Israel is now embroiled.” Joe can kiss his “ceasefire” legacy goodbye.
