Shop NowAn international Disney star who had her time in the spotlight here in the United States has died.
Coco Lee, a famous singer in Asia who made a splash in the States passed away.
She was 48 years old.
Gone…
Lee first caught everyone’s attention for singing on the soundtrack of “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.”
The song, “A Love Before Time,” was performed during the Academy Awards, where she quickly became a fan favorite.
Julia Stiles introduced her, stating, “Combining the flavor and texture of Eastern music with the orchestral color and sensitive lyrics of Western culture, the magic of this stunningly beautiful film is truly realized in this evocative love ballad.”
She also performed in the Mandarin version of Disney’s “Mulan.”
According to Lee’s family, she had struggled with depression for years.
To that point, she had reportedly attempted suicide earlier, was taken to the hospital, where she then succumbed and passed away.
Her family stated, “Although, Coco sought professional help and did her best to fight depression, sadly that demon inside of her took the better of her.”
Why entertainers seem to struggle with this disease so much is baffling.
They have the world in the palm of their hands, yet they never seem to be able be happy.
