The only other member of the blue team who bothered to show up was listlessly scrolling through his phone. Republicans were quick to blast the Manhattan liberal, “claiming he wasn’t taking the testimony seriously.” Jerrold Nadler was only there to score a few sound bites.
Democrat apathy on display
Democrat apathy on the issue of migrant crime was on full display at Tuesday’s House Judiciary Committee hearing. The focus was on the border crisis and more specifically, the violence American families are subjected to at the hands of illegal aliens. Jerrold Nadler got a rant in on the record, then went to sleep.
It’s hilarious to see how the incident is being censored and sanitized by the media. For instance, on YouTube there’s exactly one search result on the subject and the video only shows his rant while the headline proclaims he fell asleep after.
Republican lawmakers were attentively following along and interacting with “family members of victims who had suffered at the hands of violent illegal immigrants.”
One of them was “the mother of murdered Texas 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray.” It was totally obvious that Nadler didn’t care and the other Democrat who showed was much more interested in his cellphone.
Texas Representative Chip Roy put an image of Nadler sleeping up on social media and added “from frustrated families in the audience @JudiciaryGOP hearing listening to witnesses who lost loved ones to violent illegal aliens. Hardly any Dems present – those who are…….”
Republican Dan Biship made a similar post. “In Judiciary Committee, we’re hearing from moms of girls and women beaten, raped, strangled, discarded and a boy poisoned to death by fentanyl. Democrats:” Next to another image of the dozing Democrat.
Excessive partisanship
Law and order is something only MAGA types care about, Nadler insists. Before he nodded off, the ranking Democrat “expressed sympathy to those who lost loved ones, but also accused Republicans of excessive partisanship.” Progressives don’t care one bit about the crimes their beloved migrants happen to commit. He knew he had to make a stab at showing sympathy but obviously didn’t mean it.
“I would like to take a moment and express my sincerest condolences to all of our witnesses who have lost loved ones, and to all of their families. I cannot imagine how difficult this loss has been for you, and I appreciate your being here to share their stories. May their memories be a blessing.”
With that out of the way, he blathered off his sound bite. Talking excessively without meaningful content is his specialty. “Instead of working in a bipartisan fashion to find meaningful solutions to our broken immigration system, we are sitting in yet one more partisan hearing designed to divide us and to score political points before an election.”
Like that statement wasn’t meant to score political points for his own election. The panel heard testimony from eight witnesses and the Democrat slept through all of them.
The handlers of Joe Biden were totally responsible, Alexis Nungaray testified, for “her daughter’s brutal death.” She detailed “how her 12-year-old daughter was allegedly stripped naked and strangled to death by two illegal immigrants from Venezuela.” Like the ones taking over the Democrat sanctuary city of Denver, Colorado. Patty Morin described how her “daughter Rachel was allegedly raped and murdered by an illegal immigrant after going for a run not far from her home.” She scored big against Nadler.
“One of the ladies that came with me, she took a picture of the Democrats on the other side as we were speaking and telling our stories, us, the mothers, mothers crying, telling our stories – and one of them is sleeping, and the other one’s on his phone,” Morin told the press later. “It was so disheartening.“
