A top-level Democrat official has blown the whistle on CBS “60 Minutes” bias and lies about Republican governor and possible frontrunner in the 2024 presidential race, Ron DeSantis.
After CBS “60 Minutes” ran a hit piece on Governor DeSantis, alleging that he was engaged in a pay-to-play scheme concerning the vaccine and the Publix supermarket chain, even Democrats had to come out and denounce the news outlet for its lies.
During an email exchange between a “60 Minutes” producer and Governor DeSantis’ office, the producer said that the story deadline had already passed, even though the segment hadn’t aired yet, and stated: “Luckily, we have already spoken to Director Moskowitz several times. We appreciate his perspective on the roll out in Florida. We have included the information he provided on background as it pertains to this story.”
In a statement to Fox News, a CBS spokesperson seemed to contradict the email statement. “We spoke to State Emergency Management Director Jared Moskowitz twice, but he declined to be interviewed on camera for our story until well after our deadline. The idea we ignored their perspective is untrue,” the spokesperson said.
Moskowitz first responded to this claim in a tweet. “I did speak with @60Minutes. Never said I didn’t. They were very nice, but I told them that the @publix story was ‘bullshit’. Walked them through the whole process. The fact that I didn’t sit down on ‘camera’ because I am responding to a 100 year emergency doesn’t change the truth,” he wrote.

He later spoke with Fox News, and rhetorically asked: “Did you see the perspective that the person in charge of the Covid response told them how Publix was selected in their agency and that the contribution story was garbage?”
What Moskowitz is trying to say is that, as Florida’s emergency management director, it was his agency’s responsibility to select which pharmacies would receive the vaccine and how it would be distributed. It had nothing to do with DeSantis receiving a donation from the Publix supermarket chain.
Palm Beach County Mayor Dave Kerner, another Democrat, also called CBS out on their lies.
“The reporting was not just based on bad information — it was intentionally false. I know this because I offered to provide my insight into Palm Beach County’s vaccination efforts but 60 Minutes declined,” the mayor said in a statement.
The left is freaking out over this non-scandal, because they view Publix as an upper-class supermarket, and therefore are claiming that the vaccine is being given to wealthy people before it is given to minorities and poor people. Governor Ron DeSantis spoke out about the lies at a press conference:
