The rainbow sock wearing Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, isn’t as popular as he used to be. His policy of letting in any migrant who oozed across their border has voters howling for someone to close the gates. He’s being advised not to even try running for another term. On Thursday, he announced that they’re about to “significantly reduce the number of new immigrants.” He admits “his government failed to get the balance right.” You could say that.
Canada going conservative
Canada decided to cut the flow of undocumented migrants into their country by 20 percent. On Thursday, October 24, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the reduction, hoping to get his phone to stop ringing off the hook with complaints.
AP reports that “Trudeau’s Liberal government was criticized for its plan to allow 500,000 new permanent residents into the country in each of the next two years.” That’s their way of saying established citizens are freaking out.
The progressive isn’t going to close the floodgates all at once. After pushback from constituents they slashed next year’s target to “395,000 new permanent residents.”
They’ll trim another 15,000 off that for 2026 and by 2027 are expecting to have the flood down to 365,000. They believe they have the resources to squeeze in 1,000 a day but Canada is strained to the breaking point with today’s influx.
“In the tumultuous times,” Trudeau acknowledges, blaming his mistakes on COVID, “as we emerged from the pandemic, between addressing labor needs and maintaining population growth, we didn’t get the balance right.”
He couldn’t just come out and say I approved letting in way too many un-vetted migrants. The liberal nation loves doing their part for the boys in Brussels and the World Economic Forum but it’s driving Canada into bankruptcy.
Immigration is essential
Canada still loves migrants, they’re simply overwhelmed and have an oversupply at the present moment. “Immigration is essential for Canada’s future,” Trudeau insists, “but it must be controlled and it must be sustainable.”
As opposed to the uncontrolled and overwhelming flood they’re currently coping with. It’s clear that Trudeau is caving in to pressure.
The flamingly liberal prime minister is surprised to find himself “facing calls from within his own party not to seek a fourth term.”
Besides that, he’s “endured mounting criticism over his immigration policies and the negative impact that population growth has had on housing affordability.” Everyone in Canada is grumbling about the cost of living.
It’s really not as bad as it seems, Trudeau assures. His plan to reduce the flow over the next three years will be combined with a freeze on “population growth over the next two years.” The population jumped suddenly since 2019. This past April, Canada counted 41 million people. That means they’ve taken in 3.5 million new citizens in that period of time.
Kamala Harris has him beat but can’t really brag about it. Canadians understand the economic reality that she wants to simply ignore. Even Trudeau admits that “Canada needs to stabilize its population growth to allow all levels of government to make necessary changes to health care, housing and social services.“
