One Florida sheriff has a chilling message for citizens: arm yourselves. In today’s society, you never know when you may need to defend yourself, and as the saying goes: when seconds count, police are minutes away.
Sheriff Bill Leeper, of Nassau County, is warning his citizens to be on the lookout for a man suspected of murdering a deputy, and telling them to be armed in case they need to defend themselves.
“If you’re in a home and he breaks into your home and you have a gun, blow him out the door cause he’s like a rabid animal. He will kill you with his mindset,” Sheriff Leeper said during a press conference. “What he did to that deputy, was uncalled for, unnecessary, and he needs to pay for it.”
On Friday, September 24th, Deputy Josh Moyers, 29, was shot in the face and back during a traffic stop. He passed away from his injuries two days later.
“It is with great sadness that I announce Deputy Josh Moyers has passed away this afternoon, September 26, 2021 at 2:19 PM at UF health in Jacksonville. Please keep Josh’s family and fiancé in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this terrible tragedy,” Sheriff Leeper said.

A massive manhunt is now underway for Moyers’ killer, Patrick Rene McDowell, who Sheriff Leeper has described as a rabid animal.
“We now have a murderer on the loose in our community,” said the sheriff.
Sheriff Leeper also warned citizens not to provide any aid or assistance to McDowell.
“If we find out anybody has helped him or is going to help him, do not do that. If we find out you’ve helped this guy, we’re going to arrest you. We’re going to arrest you. We’re going to arrest you for preventing us from capturing him,” he warned.
This is the unfortunate state of the country right now, police officers are under attack from criminals, and instead of supporting the police, many on the left have chosen to support the criminals. Even worse, the left continues to try to prevent law-abiding Americans from exercising their 2nd Amendment rights to own a weapon to defend themselves against these criminals. Sheriff Leeper is right, it’s time for the American people to arm themselves and protect their lives and livelihoods.
