Breaking: Hezbollah Strikes Israeli Infantry

Conflict between Israel and Hamas has been raging for over a month now and tensions continue to remain high. On Wednesday, November 8, the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah announced that it had struck two Israeli infantry unites located in Shomera and Dovev.

Hezbollah has claimed to have inflicted casualties on Israeli forces.

The attack on Dovev is believed to be in retaliation for a previous incident where an ambulance in Lebanon was targeted by an Israeli drone, wounding four paramedics. To make matters worse, another airstrike Sunday evening hit a car carrying three children and their grandmother, killing them all while injuring the children’s mother.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported heavy shelling along several border areas of Lebanon following these attacks. In addition to this news agency report, an Associated Press journalist also reported heavy shelling in the area.

Afterward, Hezbollah issued a statement claiming responsibility for these strikes which it said resulted in casualties among Israeli forces though there has yet to be any confirmation of this from the military itself.

The clashes between Israeli troops and Hezbollah militants have been intensifying since the start of the Israel-Hamas war over a month ago. While these clashes have largely stayed contained so far they could easily escalate further as Israel continues its ground incursion against Hamas in Gaza who are allies with Hezbollah.

With no end to this conflict in sight it will be interesting to see how much more tension will mount along the border moving forward as both sides continue fighting each other relentlessly with no signs of stopping anytime soon.

This is a developing story.
