Attorney’s representing the Arizona State Senate, a GOP Majority under Senate President Karen Fann, have released a massive dump of communications records between state legislators, audit liaisons, and many others due to a court order obtained by a “watchdog group” seeking “transparency” into the process. These records provide a window into the background of the contentious Arizona Senate Audit of the 2020 Election in Maricopa County and included communiqués between the Trump campaign and Senate Liason Randy Pullen over mundane fundraising questions which the mainstream media is trying to spin as nefarious. Don’t buy it. There are over 20,000 records that have been handed over now to the group “American Oversight” who are still in court fighting for some 3,000 more records which the Senate withheld due to legislative and/or attorney-client privilege.
According to The Associated Press,
“The more than 20,000 records released late Tuesday night included communications of Republican Senate President Karen Fann, Judiciary Committee Chair Sen. Warren Peterson, Pullen, the Senate’s other liaison to the contractors, Ken Bennett, as well as GOP activists and legislators, lobbyists and the press. They include text messages, emails and even a video of former President Ronald Reagan saying the people oversee the government.”
Records Demanded By A “Non-Partisan, Non-Profit” Completely Anti-Trump “Watchdog”
The records dump was orchestrated by the previously mentioned group “American Oversight”, superficially they look like a governmental watchdog and a group most patriots should support right? WRONG. This is where you really need to check the “About” page. Check out this group’s idea of making an “impact”
“American Oversight has obtained and published more than one million pages of emails, memos, calendars, text messages, and other records — driving accountability and exposing misconduct at all levels of government, including:
- Arizona’s Sham Election Audit. We obtained emails showing the top official in charge of Arizona’s election “audit” boasting that she had received a “personal call from President Trump thanking us for pushing to prove any fraud.” These and other records obtained through our ongoing public records litigation in Arizona have further revealed the partisan and conspiracy-driven biases of the officials and contractors running the ballot review.
- Ukraine Scandal. We were the first group to file FOIA litigation to investigate President Trump’s corrupt scheme to pressure the government of Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election. We forced the State Department to release Ukraine documents despite the administration’s best efforts to withhold these documents from Congress. During the impeachment trial, the impeachment managers raised documents uncovered by American Oversight on the floor of the Senate as evidence of both abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
- Covid-19 Response. Our investigation into the Trump administration’s failed response to the Covid-19 pandemic revealed that the government had canceled a plan to mail protective face masks to every American household in early 2020. FOIA litigation against the U.S. Postal Service uncovered a draft press release announcing the mask distribution effort — and subsequent reporting by journalists determined that the plan had been scrapped by the White House. “
While they go to great efforts alongside the mainstream media (looking at you AP) to malign the Arizona Audit efforts as “Partisan”, they are nothing but! The hypocrisy is STAGGERING this isn’t a “Non-Partisan” group by any measure. InfluenceWatch lays this bare within seconds, identifying them as a “Left-Wing Judicial Activist Group”
“While promoting itself as a “non-partisan” watchdog, American Oversight frequently appears explicitly partisan in its choice of investigative projects.
In April 2018, anticipating that Democrats could take control of the U.S. House of Representatives and begin investigations of the Trump administration in January 2019, AO announced a new policy of launching “parallel” investigations that would duplicate and amplify the work of Democratic-controlled committees. This policy was not implemented for investigations conducted by Republican committees that had then been in control of Congress during AO’s entire existence.
As of the end of 2018, at least 11 of American Oversight’s 17 staffers and three of its four board members have known career histories with major left-wing organizations, Democratic Party campaigns, or Democratic officials.”
This is a patently fraudulent organization, who is spoon-feeding a complicit media all of their favorite leftist talking points while bogging down the Audit with pointless, frivolous, malicious litigation. Thereby, they are fulfilling two goals at once, bleeding the Audit’s funding as well as Taxpayer dollars from the Senate and publicly de-legitimizing the audit effort in order to undermine the validity of what will likely prove to be damning results.
